I would recommend The Daily Bloomer in Carmel,NY. They aren't a huge operation and their website is a little lacking, but they do awesome work. (http://thedailybloomerflorist.com/)
They did the flowers for my sister's wedding and they were gorgeous (see pic below). My sister just showed the florist her inspiration picture and she was able to replicate it within the budget!
My parents live in that town, so we have seen a lot of their work (at other weddings, funerals, in church, etc) and it's always very beautiful and the flowers are fresh.
Here's a picture from my sister's wedding:
Marisa- also check the Hudson Valley board- there's a Vendor Profiles link at the top where a bunch of area brides posted about the vendors they used- including florists.

I am using Heather from A Night in Bloom event floristry. She doesn't have a shop, works solely on weddings and major events, and is one of the most knowledgeable, creative person I know! prices are awesomely reasonable!!!
I met with Carl at Bed of Roses, and Danny at Westchester Floral Decorators and thought both were fairly reasonable
My friend used Dyker Heights Florists at her wedding and they were very affordable and super creative.
We're using Eddie @ Odyssey Floral in New Rochelle, NY (914.633.4228). He came very highly recommended from a number of friends & his prices are better than anyone else we talked to - that includes Costco & Stew Leonards!
The store is a little run-down & it's not in the most desirable area of town but don't let that get in the way. I like the fact that when we called & made an appt we dealt directly with the owner & he's really easy to work with. He made a mockup when I gave him a description of what we wanted (before we even gave him a deposit). When I saw it - even though he'd followed my description exactly, I hated it. He said - lemme try something & I was amazed at his work. We're having 3ft tall trumpet vases with cymbidium orchids in water & a floating candle on top - the bases will be covered in white hydrangea. My camera battery died when we were in the shop otherwise I'd have a pic. Everywhere else said we'd have to purchase the vases - Eddie said we could rent them, and he's getting the floating candles for us. Final price per table? $60 bucks. For orchids. Unheard of… love it.
I liked my florist, Ella Meyer, of Limelight Floral Design.

Good luck!
Mrs. Swan: Was your florist reasonably priced? I like the pictures from the website you posted and I'm also a BG bride!!
I am using www.theflowergirls.net - Pamela is great to work with and she came very highly recommended from my wedding planner...and affordable!
I am using James Murray in Goshen. he is fabulous and his prices are reasonable for the magic he creates!
Maracam82- Yes. I thought she was. She was a little more expensive than the other florist I saw but I liked our meeting with her. She was one of the reasons I came up with Swan Tip #2...LOL :) Seriously. She really listened to what I had to say, but I think she is a decent value in the NYC area.
We're using Jenny's Flowers in Bensonhurst. They have really good reviews online and they did live up to all that - very knowledgeable, very reasonably priced. We got:
1 bridal bouquet
4 bm bouquets
1 groom's bout
4 gm bouts
2 father bouts
4 mom/grandma corsages
25 relative bouts (I'm chinese so this is traditional)
1 jr. bm bouquet
For $900. We're using roses and orchids for everything so I thought this was a good price. This includes tax and delivery from Brooklyn to Midtown. I think this is reasonable, but then again, I've never done this before :) My fiance and I really liked the floral designer and I think being comfortable with the expertise and personality of the person working with you is worth a lot in itself.
Good luck!
