So I have a terrible history with printers. I can never get them to work correctly and no matter what I buy, they always break in under a year and then lay around my apartment until I get the motivation to throw them away.
I’ve now been without a printer for almost 2 years and it’s driving me crazy. I refused to buy one for such a long time because I knew it would just break on me in 10 minutes. I really need a printer though.. it’s getting to be a pain to sneak print everything at my office..
I would like to get a nice quality printer that I could potentially use to print our invites, STDS, etc and could maybe print photos with.
Does anyone have any recs? I have no idea where to start and I just can’t deal with another high maintenance printer!!

I love my Canon Pixma MP990 Wireless. It’s amazing and the ink lasts so much longer than my HP (which was less than a year old). I used the Canon for our STDs and also printed out my own magnets on special order magnet paper (20 mil) which is pretty thick. The printer allows you to choose to use the rear tray (which pulls paper in back to front) or the cassette (which rolls the paper in front to front like a regular printer). The rear tray allows you to do photo paper, extremely thick card stock like 130 lb., thick magnet paper, or really small documents (I’ve done 2×3 cards). The quality on photos and smooth paper like crest cover is amazing!!!

Anyone else wanna recommend their printer?? I’m desperate! 🙂

I had a similar thread on this few weeks back…
Decent printer for Macs?
Hopefully that helps! We ended up getting a deal on a HP at Best Buy (the one that is in all of the holiday ads now…) It works pretty well, but we really only print directions to places and small documents like that… Good luck!

I love our HP Photosmart. I got it years ago and it’s still kickin! The model I have has the print nozzles on the actual colour cartridges, so when you replace the cartridge, you replace the nozzle. My old printers always broke because the nozzles got clogged and it cost more to repair than to replace, so that problem totally got solved! I think after about 5 or 6 years now the photos are starting to print a bit darker than I would like and I can’t figure out how to fix that, but really, I think I could resell it (and it was only like $200 to start with) or give it to a charitable organization and they’d get many more years out of it. Totally a great product. I plan on replacing it with another HP printer 🙂
