I don't really know any non-obvious tips on how to look better (get a facial, get your hair done, etc)... but for boudoir pics my top tip is to watch what you wear before-hand! Photogs recommend loose clothes rather than anything with a tight waistband because you don't want red marks in your pics!
@tee22: Corgi Tales had a great piece of advice. If you have a dress without straps make sure that you don't wear anything tight that could leave marks! I also try to watch my dairy consumption and stay away from really high fiber foods. For some reason high fiber foods make me really bloated.
I second the water comment too.

Whenever I know I have photos on a big day I drink plenty of lemon water and stick to whole grains, lean proteins, and lots of fruits and veggies. Do you have any tips?
