Ive seen a lot of posts on here about prices of dresses but I have yet to see a deal better than mine! I purchased my my beautiful baby for an awesome price. $15!!!! I had waaaaaay more set aside but I would be an ass to overlook my dream dress just because it came frrom the salvation army store. It has everything on my checklist, color-check, pickups-check, a line- check, no train- check! Its Mori Lee, dont know the# and dont care. I love it and I feel truly blessed. tell me about your great deals.

Congrats on the find.  :)  It might not be the typical big white dress, but who cares as long as that's what you want?

I think we brides can get somewhat carried away with the dress considering that dress styles change and what looks good today often looks silly or dated tomorrow.  I'm sure there are a lot of 80s brides who thought they were quite fashionable who now somewhat regret their dress!  I suppose my point is, if you found a dress you love and got a great price to boot, that's great!

It's not the price-tag that matters... it's how you like and feel in the dress.  :)  All you'll have left of your wedding day is your memories, perhaps some pictures with loved ones, and hopefully your man!

@sugarpeach: yeah but..you mean to tell me that an 15 dollar litterally is OK to buy a wedding dress??? i mean isnt it more than that...the beauty..the look..it sohuld matter for a bride..

come on..you pay 15 dollar on a dinner plate the cheapest

@christinenadine: I bought mine off of EBay for $9. :)

You still got a better deal though because after shipping it cost $28, lol. Mine's a Mon Cheri from 2007 I think? I had to do some detective work to estimate a year. Your dress looks very pretty from what I can see in your avatar! I also just snagged a veil from my thrift store for $6 so be sure to keep looking for good deals!

Really a nice dress, but you sure buy it with $15? Ohhh...

Don't expect more, I mean, the quality. Find more choice. Don't decide it now. You must be a perfect bride. A wedding dress is very very important for a bride, very very important for your big day. Come on...

    ... What's wrong with a $15 wedding dress?

OP: Congrats on finding a dress! :) It really doesn't matter how much it cost, what matters is how you feel in it.

Wow! That's an amazing deal! Is that the pic you have on your profile? If it does, I am really happy for you because that dress looks amazing on you! :)

And no, the price tag does not matter in my opinion, if she got it for 15 dollars, that is super cool! :D

    15??yeah very cheap...but i dont think ......

what the heck?  my "wedding dress" was a $2.50 sarong and i loved it and kept it as a momento of our great wedding, different people have different wants/value on things

personally i would love to see a bigger pic of the dress - looks great in the avatar and OP loves it. congrats OP, smart shopping!

@Bella88: Yes $15 is perfectly fine to spend on a wedding dress if the bride that will be wearing it feels beautiful and confident in it. I'm sure she has considered how she looks in it since she bought - in fact, the OP sounds very happy with her choice and purchase. It might not be the price that you would pay for a dress to wear to your wedding but there is nothing wrong with it.

@carolinaw: Ok "must be a perfect bride"?? Are you kidding me?? Read the first post - she's already purchased it and thus decided on it.

Perhaps something is being lost in translation with that "must be perfect bride" poster.

FWIW, I've always found perfect to be a bit boring.  ;)

Anyway, OP, congrats!  I got a slightly better deal...but I can't say too much just yet.  I'll be blogging about my dress soon.  :)

It is perfect for me. I love it and feel beautiful in it. I try it on everytime I go to my moms house. The price was just icing on the cake. Some people are very negative and/or closed minded. I'm glad I'm not one of them. Should I have paid more for a dress that looks identical to this one that needs no altererations. I love love love it and I wouldn't change a thing.

Wow, I am amazed at some people's responses.

OP:  I love that dress!  All that matters is how YOU feel.  I personally bought a dress on clearance from White House Black Market.  It is a very simple white dress.  I am having an outdoor wedding in July.  In Virginia.  Talk about hot and humid.  No way could I wear a "bridal" gown.

Own it! :D my mother wore a borrowed mauve dress from a newbie designer friend of hers. My sister in law wore a black and white dress she got at sears. My best friends parents got married in blue jeans in their front yard (married 23 years now)! The dress doesn't make the wedding, or the marriage. More expensive does not equal better. Personally, I can't imagine spending over $100 on a dress that I'm going to wear for a few hours and hang in my closet. I'd rather put the money toward an awesome honeymoon! It looks beautiful in your picture, and I'm sure it looks better in person. Can't wait to see wedding pictures!

Wowwww, that dress is incredible! I can't believe you found it for $15 - go you! I love the color, you're going to look so stunning :) For some reason it makes me think of Belle's ball gown in Beauty and the Beast.

Any thoughts on bridal party colors?

@mink: I'm wondering if the word "cheap" set them off, since in some contexts cheap = poor quality. If they're not a native English speaker/writer, I can definitely see making that mistake.

Im going with a nature theme since we are getting married in a park. browns, greens, cream, gold, and pops of red because its both of our fave color. I was thrilled at the thought of having a chocolate or green dress! Just found the chocolate one first.Laughing

I think you dress is great as long as the bride thinks its fine. I do not think the price of the dress has anything to do with the beauty. When I was looking at dresses I thought some of the ones that were like 3,000 was uglyyyyy. I ended up buying my dress for $500 and I love her. My one cousin got married in her mother's old dress which cost her $0.

Thanks ladies. Can't wait to wear it. I see a lot of dresses that look so pretty and sometimes I want another one. But then all I have to do is put mines on again and I'm totally in love. It fits so perfectly I think it was made for me. Not to mention the way I found it. I got lost looking for big lots lol
