I wouldn't do it for the ceremony, I'm having a traditional catholic one, but wouldn't it be fun to have at the reception?

I loove it. Is there a way to change from the ceremony and put it on for the reception?

    or am I dreaming? lol

If you get a separate crinoline (not connected to your dress), you can just slip it on in between the ceremony and reception. I love the idea too! There is someone on Etsy that can dye crinolines to any color you want! I think I'm going that route so I don't have to worry about trying to do it myself and ruining it.

They are awesome! If my dress allows for this, I am so doing it. I know a couple of our bees did it, but I just can't remember off the top of my head...

WeddingCabaret is the one on Etsy that's doing it.

I agree! Who does it on Etsy? I wanted to do this too, but I couldn't find a crinoline that I thought would fit/ work under my dress.

I don't know a lot of crinoline, and I when I asked a question on offbeat bride, the person who answer snapped at me, as if I should know EXACTLY where to get one.

MissStellar, I just found out about it from a post on weddingbycolor, and I thought it looked soooo amazing. I know nothing about crinoline either!!!!!!!

If the skirt of my dress is really full and ball gown type, it is made with tulle on the outside and a "hoop" on the inside and really nothing is under the hoop. Its just really full and theres no fabric under it, which is why I picked it b/c I felt so free! Anyway, would I just put the crinoline under the hoop of my skirt? Hmm..

Well, my dress isn't super full, so I guess I wouldn't want a hoop skirt crinoline. Does anyone know where I get one, relatively soon, inexpensively?

I want to dye it- which I know I can do in my washing machine, but I guess it need IT first!!

I think it is such a fun idea!! If it is a removeable slip, you could have a white one for the wedding cremony and then a colored one for the reception! I love love love the idea!!!!

Have no clue where to buy one. I think you should contact the person on that etsy site and ask them, or call a dress shop.

Done and done.  The Marie Antoinette picture above is my inspiration.  I've got hot pink shoes with a different shade of pink crinoline layer, and I'm SO EXCITED!  :)

Where did you get the crinoline layer? If I want to do this, and for it to be seperate, what do I ask for and where?

My seamstress is going to get it for me somewhere, but I know of the following sources as well:

    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_2&listing_id=22701698&ga_search_query=pink+crinoline&ga_search_type=tag_title&ga_page=&min=&max=&order=

You can also order from this website and dye it yourself in your washing machine.  :)

This isn't a wedding dress, but I just saw this this morning! I think it'd look super cute to have a colored crinoline under a dress, even a short one:

after trying my dress on taday i decided on adding color to my petticoat (which is how i found this post).

however, instead of dying my crinoline (or tulle; is that the same thing?) i have decided to just add an attachment to my dress.

i have yet to actually try this but my idea is to purchase colored tulle from a fabric store (75c a yard!!!) and just use velcro to stick it on. i am also having a traditional catholic wedding and it would be super easy to add it while i get bustled.
