Love it and congrats!! My mom got remarried at the age of 44 and there were six children between her and her now husband--all of them were 17 and over or so. Love the dress :) I hate when people say if someone gets remarried then it shouldn't be a fun blowout---why? That's not fair. Enjoy your planning!

Congrats young lady! I turned 50 the day after our wedding last year. We had a grand time at our wedding - a lovely early summer eve wedding followed by a simple little reception. Then we had a HUGE pig roast the next day! Have fun and enjoy!!!
@prgirlpr:Good for you! I'm 44 and yes, getting married for the first time too. I don't know about you but I get anxiety attacks when people try to monopolize me to tell me "what I should do". I was engaged for 7 years to a man who died right before we were to be married (2006). I think by now at our age we should know what we want as much as what we don't want.
Theman I am now marrying and I are getting married at the Pelican Beach Clubhouse in Satellite Beach with an ethereal beach, zen, water concept. (i.e. shimmering flowing blue bridesmaids dresses, steel drum band during cocktail hour, etc.,) Try to tell that to other people and next thing I know they want me to go to Dollar Tree and buy some God-awful aluminum hanging palm tree decorations!
Make it fun. Make it just yours. And make it a reflection of you and your fiancee. That's where the real fun comes in. God Bless! And Congrats!

@TheFutureMcBride: I fell in love with the dress the minute i tried it on. I actually bought a different dress and when i went ot try it on it just didn't feel right..I stood in front of the mirror crying...The salesperson was amazing she simply told me hun we will start from scratch!

@Mrs. Louboutin: I am a wreck so much to figure out. I have some a long way and yes here are 9 kids do they all get along well I am sad to say they dont and yes there is drama and craziness...BUT he is always there for me. I raised 4 children alone and yes my story does have how in the hell did you live with someone who did that to you story! But God had something else in store for me ... he had a plan my probme was i wanted it now and it was when he felt i was ready! SIGh...ok so now it wedding time and i am treating this as if it were my first ...anticipation and butterflies are CHECK!
thank you ladies for your support i thought getting into a web site like this was a bot ODD but I have had so many comments and i am touched by such sweet words. My dress I AM SO IN LOVE WITH. I lost qbou 60 pounds (after i was over with the POOR BRIDGET PARADE) got up by my boot straps!
I am loving this part of my life! Who knew love would reach me after 40 :O)

me too!! I'm 48, just got engaged last week!! I will be 49 when we marry, possibly 50... but hey, I waited... I did not settle!! I would never marry unless he made my heart go pitter patter, LOL. I met him 1.5yrs ago... we are both avid cyclists and I took a class on bike maintenance and he was my teacher, LOL. He is adorable and super nice.. not perfect!, but pretty good.
I never thought I would get married, and that was okay with me... just figured it wasn't in the cards... I accepted it. ... but hey, look at me now... with a big diamond on my hand... go figure!
Congratulations! I just signed on to this website, I have been engaged for a few months and I will be 50 when I get married, first time, next May. I waited for the right one. It's comforting to know that there are other brides out there getting married for the first time at an older age and are have a "wedding"!
45 (well, i turn 45 next week) and just got engaged last night - to someone i knew since i was 21! (but we hadn't seen each other for 15 years until we reconnected a few months ago)
yes, life is so odd sometimes with what it hands you, isn't it? have never been happier...... i wouldn't trade it for being a 21 year old bride for anything.......

Yes I am going to get married July of 2011. This time aorund i am so into the prep and planning, Between the 2 of us 9 chidlren and 3 grandchildren. I am really excited but oh so nervous! Am i going all out ...YES I AM! this is my wedding dress I am 5'11 and i fell in love with in from the moment she handed me the dress for a fitting!
