I used a friend of a friend and her friend for my hair and make-up.
Hair: Sarah (doughnuthoe@aol.com, 7148755589). Hair was $60/person, including me. - she specializes in up-dos but I wore my hair down.
Make-up: Wendy Martinez (glittarunaround@yahoo.com, 562-230-8343). Trial was $50, day of make-up was $125 for me and $85 for my bridesmaids.

I tried Susie Chhuor too but I didn't love the trial. I'm so happy I went with Wendy and her friend Sarah.

She is amazing, does hair and makeup (has assistants that are great) and does it for a GREAT price! She was one of the least expensive I found and did an excellent job. After she did the hair and makeup at my wedding, my SIL and friend both booked her and another friend just booked her for her wedding in August.

Angie Pham-- she is really great! Her prices are reasonable and she is super talented. She's based in OC but travels all over the Southland. I wrote a review for her HERE.
@TingTing - I wanted to use Kelly but she (and her team) were all booked!
Theresa Huang - I just booked her for my makeup for an all day engagement shot at Disneyland (through the heat, rides and photos) the makeup lasted all day. It also looked natural and I still felt like myself. She is friendly and even suggested help pin up my dress straps! When I forgot to bring along lipgloss, she even gave me one of her tubes!!!
I highly recommend her. She was a good price: $75 for makeup.

btw, i had my trial recently, and honestly, she's better at makeup than at hair. my friend who has also booked her felt the same. so i guess you aren't missing out that much :)
Try Desserae at Crowning Glory in North Hollywood CA. She was a great find. I thought this salon would be too expensive for me. Turned out she was comparable to the cheapest I've found. She did an amazing job on my hair that 6 out of 8 of my bridesmaids decided to get their done with her last minute and everyone looked amazing.

I am using Vincent Ford. I had my trial with him and the makeup lasted all day/night. Just needed 2 minor touch ups throughout the day.
