I almost hesitate to write this, because I’ve never been a fan crash diets or quick fixes. But I’m under 3 months from my wedding and I need to lose 5-10 pounds before.
About me: I’m 5’6 and 135. I consider myself a VERY healthy from American standards: I’m almost vegan (no meat/fish/dairy ever…but I do eat eggs for protein); the biggest junk food I eat is a teaspoon of honey or some sorbet. I run half marathons a few times a year. I work out almost everyday, often twice a day, do weight lifting at least 3 times a week, usually more.
But I still have stuff to pinch around the waist, and some dimpling around my bellybutton:/. I do drink wine, but I work in sales (I know, I know, excuses), but a glass with a client is part of the job.
I used to do Bikram but haven’t in awhile – – – does anyone who has a similar lifestyle as I do, and have a quick fix to lose another 5? Should I do Bikram everyday? Running? LIfting? What part of my lifestyle should I dedicate myself to just to lose 5 pounds?
Thank you ladies:-)

It is my understanding that it is all about calories in and calories out. Sounds like it is time to keep a food journal or download an app for your phone (mine is called Loseit!) fortunately there are a lot of ways to find out how many calories are in just about anything these days. If you are already active that’s the only thing left. For me, I hated the idea of doing it but with the phone app it has become almost like a game and it is working.

Those last five pounds are extra hard! But with three months to work with, you should be able to manage it. However, losing 5 pounds doesn’t mean that it will come from the area you want it to come from…
I suggest Pilates abs workout (20 minutes from Mari Winsor) – works great to define the abs.
And, as PP has said, calories are the key. Cut 500 a day, either by eating a bit less or by exercising a bit more or a mix of both…

Ok, I can help. This might sound a bit controversial but as a vegan you need to go on a high protein vegetable diet! What does this mean? Since you like eggs, eat as many eggs as you want whenever you want. That is the best thing for you. Then You can have 20grams of carbs/day for the first two weeks. Up to six cups of lettuce and up to two cups of vegatables a day and you can eat as many eggs as you want. Don’t exceed 20 grams of net carbs a day.
1/2 cup of broccoli florets are aprox .8 carbs
Beans have more carbs, like green beans have 2.1 per 1/2 cup
No fruit though until after the first two weeks, too much sugar.
Keep up the exercises and you will melt the pounds!
I just lost 15lbs in two weeks doing this.
Almost forgot, no alcohol nuts or seeds, sodas juices no sugar of any sort or grains during this time

They say its 70% food and 30% exercise!! So yes cut out 500 calories a day. My favorite is to run on the treadmill at an incline (speed 5.5-6.5 at incline of 2) and walk at speed of 3.5 at 5% incline. The incline makes all the difference let me tell you! I like to rotate between the run and walk.. sprints and hills are good for weight loss. Also i read while walking and the time flies by.
