@maloussii:  Do you want someone objective to take a look at your resume? Maybe there is a detail that’s off…???  That is awful…=(  I don’t mean to sound like I think it’s your fault — it sucks out there…but if there IS something…

I sort of am… I have my Masters in Educational Psychology with my license in School Counseling and applied for probably around eighty jobs and have gotten a FEW interviews, but no hires.

I finally accepted a job as a COUNSELING SECRETARY…. so I am working under someone with the same background as me… but its a job…

Its time to look at your resume again. It may be worth paying to have a professional look at your resume. You may not be representing yourself in the best possible way.

Its hard to see how to improve your own resume becaues you have likely stared at it for so long, but someone who really knows what they are doing can give you guidance.

A good resume takes so dozens of hours to fine tune it everytime you update it.

@maloussii:  ASK!  I asked why I wasn’t hired at a private school once, and he was like, “You asked for too much money.”  Oh well — I couldn’t have taken the job without the salary I asked for.  It was good to know that it wasn’t because of something else.

Ask one of the companies that has rejected you.  “Hi Greta – I was wondering if you could tell me why I was not chosen to be interviewed for the position of High Chancellor of Doritos.  I am interested in the position and know I am qualified.  Would you be willing to provide some insight?  Thank you for your time, Jezebel.”

@maloussii:  Like all professions not everyone’s skills are created equal.  Take your resume to someone in your field that you respect and ask them what they think.

There are really only two options here. Your resume is not attracting the right attention. So this means that other people have the skills and experience you dont have, in which case your looking a jobs that are not aligned with your skills (and you should look at classes, projects etc to get you there), or your resume isnt representing you as good as it can be. In which case keep working on changing it until you find one that works for you!
