So on and off the last week I’ve woken up around 330am annoyed & start tossing and turning trying to go back to sleep after about 40minutes I realize that I’m hungry! Lol I eat and pass out! For some reason at 330am I don’t make the immediate connection. Losing about an hour of sleep at night & it’s killing me!!! I’m soooo tired in the morning I can barely get out of bed. When did you start getting hungry in the middle of the night? With dd I don’t remember it happening before 5months
but my gfs all say they remember it happening around 4months (its been a while so I may be remembering it wrong lol). I’ll be 16weeks tomorrow.

@MsSparklyBee: That has happened to me since the 2nd trimester. I have packed some organic granola bars next to my bed so I can eat while I’m still kind of asleep

Only in the last couple weeks for me (36 weeks now). Unfortunately I have GD, so I have to take a fasting blood sugar every morning though, so I just get to lay there and listen to my stomach growl.

@abc123joanna: Good thinking. Right now anything in my belly sends me back to bed. But I remember with dd when I was like 5 1/2 months pregnant I’d wake up craving chicken lol
@SapphireSun: ohh no that sucks. At least you only have a few more weeks!

@MsSparklyBee: Oh geeez, hahah maybe switch out the granola bars for some chicken nuggets 😉

I am hungry all the time…. and it sucks when I am hungry late at night but I never wake up due to hunger. I might go to bed a little hungry (I just don’t want to make food at 12 0 clock). I am in my 3rd trimester. I do wake up hungry some days…. and since I get up early with dh to make hm breakfast and lunch for work, I will eat a small breakfast at 4am and then again around 8am.
I started getting super hungry like this my 2nd tri.

I have been hungry in the middle of the night during my whole pregnancy. I eat right before going to bed, and still wake up in the middle of the night with hunger pains.

I have GD as well, and leave a pb sandwich (carbs, fat, protein) ready for me to eat. I was told to definitely eat in the middle of the night to keep my fasting sugars regulated in the morning.

This happens to me a lot too. I wake up in the night and I’m starving. I lay in bed and hope that it passes but my stomach keeps growling until I get up and eat something. My go-to snack is a banana but sometimes I’ll have something else like a granola bar.
There are other times when I can make it through the night without needing to eat but then I wake up super early (like 6:00) and I’m starving. When that happens I just get up and eat breakfast and go back to bed for a couple hours.
ETA: I’m only 11 weeks today so hopefully this hunger doesn’t continue for my whole pregnancy or else I’m going to gain a ton of weight!

@MsSparklyBee: In my first trimester I would wake up and get nauseous if I didn’t eat. I would make a PB&J to keep on my nightstand in a plastic baggie. I’d wake up, take 1-2 bites, and fall right back asleep. If I didn’t have anything, I’d toss and turn forever, and sometimes end up throwing up.
PB&J = Lifesaver!

I was hungry constantly for my entire pregnancy. I can’t tell you how many times I got up in the wee hours to have a snack.
