I’m so sorry about Harley. It’s such a difficult time, I’ve been there with two precious kitties in my life. It’s the time to remember the wonderful memories you have of Harley, how he lived a long and happy life with you, 17 years is an amazing lifetime of love that you got to share with him.

I know your wedding is coming up fast and furious in just 5 weeks, but take a couple of days off of wedding planning to grieve and to bask in the happy memories you have with him. Maybe you could have a frame of your beloved Harley sitting at a table near the guest book or a little bouquet charm with a photo of him to carry down the aisle.

cupcakesESQ:  I’m sooooo sorry about sweet Harley dog. Aaaaawww. I am having a teeny tiny wedding, but I thought for sure I’d have to let go of my almost 16 yr old beagle a few weeks ago. As it is, I think it’s a little touch and go and when she’s ready, no matter when, I’ll have to let her go. It’s awful, though. One thing I can say is, it WILL get better. You are just at the beginning of your grieving. I’m really sorry for your loss.

cupcakesESQ:  Aww, that is a really sweet and special photo you have and can cherish forever! He’s so cute!! Yup yup yup, dogs are full of love, unconditional love. Who else gives that?! When I lost my first dog, I couldn’t take it anymore and I went and got the old beagle girl I have now just 3 weeks later. I just had so much love in my heart to give a 4 legged furry critter. Like a PP said, it’s probably good to have a wedding to plan to maybe divert your attention, but I sure know it’s hard. PS- my dad has Alzheimers and won’t be attending my wedding either. :-/ And man, do I need to get some good pix with my old girl. I just have crummy iPhone pix.

I am so sorry.  Losing a dog is so hard.  Especially at a time like this.  I lost my grandmother 3 weeks ago and my wedding is on Saturday.  It was so unexpected so none of us were prepared for it.  It has made the last few weeks of our wedding planning very emotional.  We all miss her a lot.  My mom is especially having a hard time with it.  I know that there is never a good time for things like that to happen but it was an especially bad time.  We are trying to make the best of things and we are honoring her memory at our wedding.
