I just posted this on another thread, but Yes! I lost a small pave diamond out of my ring. THe ring is old. It was his great grandmother's ring and is somewhat delicate. I took it to a jeweler and they replaced the diamond, fixed the crack and polished up the ring for about $65.
I'm much more careful now. I don't wear it to the gym and I take it off for cleaning, etc.
sigh, yes. I was hysterical when I lost my first pave diamond for the same reason, it would no longer be "the perfect ring he proposed with". Got it fixed, then I lost another. Decided I wouldn't be attached to the pave diamonds anymore, they come and go and can be fixed easily. Then I fully ruined my ring. And now I am trying to be ok with the fact I won't have the 'ring' he proposed with. OK, not going to be attached to the metal now. So now, i am just clinging to the large diamond, it's the only thing I have left of my original engagement ring, if I lose that, I will lose my mind!
yeah, i lost a smaller diamond when wearing it while swimming and i hit the lane dividers by accident - thank god it was a small diamond and not the big one! now that im married i rarely wear the e-ring or diamond wedding band - as im pretty active ive been wearing a plain gold band most of the time
About three months after he proposed, we hosted a cookout. Afterwards, when we sat down I noticed no sparkle from my ring and HE DIAMOND was gone! I totally freaked! Luckily, my hubby had gotten a extended warranty (not sure if that is the correct term( and the jewlers replaced the diamond, but I have been extra careful ever since.
I had my engagement ring a week, and the main, center diamond was already loose. It was heartbreaking. I went bakc and they fixed it, and I was without it for a whole 10 days....the longest 10 days of my LIFE!! I never knew I would get attached to something so quickly. So ever since that, I have this fear that I'm going to lose diamonds....I check my diamond basically once a day, if not more, to see if the stone is loose again...I'm paranoid, I know.
Do you have insurance on it? If so, they should replace it and do any other neccessary repairs for free. I am lucky enough to have a promisr ring, so I can revert back to that if they need to take my e-ring.
Oh nooo that is awful! I have micropave on my ring, and they told me that stones will get loose relatively easily, so I need to be super careful with it. Ahhh! It makes me cringe. However, if you have insurance on the ring, they should replace it. The designer for my ring will replace missing stones at no cost (you just have to end up shipping the ring off for 2 weeks...sadness).
me too..2 weeks before my wedding...it's been almost 4 months now, i still hasn't gotten it fixed though because well i just haven't had time

I just noticed the other day that I lost one of my pave set diamonds. I had read that this is pretty common (thanks to the hive!) but it still kinda freaked me out! Now I feel like I have to be EXTRA careful with my ring. I'm also a bit sad that my ring will now never be exactly the way it was when my fiance gave it to me...
Anyone else have problems with losing a diamond??
