we are trying to shoot for 150-175. We both have fairly large families.
we are having similiar problems. I'd like to be in the adr, would be best, but can't find any place that seems right. we are only having about 80, so size isn't a problem, I'm just not getting a feel for places. i just stumbled across copperfield inn and garnet hill lodge but haven't looked at them in detail. have you checked out those?
I requested informationf from both facilities. The Copperfield Inn was really nice but not what we were looking for. With the number of people we were thinking, some of the prices and poilcies just didn't work for us. With Garnet Hill we also really liked this place but the size was a concern. We would have to arrange for a tent and we are just trying to avoice the tent thing if possible. Nothing wrong with them it's just a hassle i don't want to deal with if i don't have to. One other thing about Garnet is that if i understood their material, they only offer Spring and Fall weddings. So if you were thinking a summer wedding i'm not sure if it's available.
have you looked at Jimbo's on Brant Lake? it's a sort of terrible name but a beautiful place. we're also getting married in the adirondacks. we're looking at the Copperfield Inn, High Peaks Resort and the Boathouse in Lake George. the only thing is that we are having a pretty small reception, 50-60 people.
I'm getting married in Saranac Lake and having the reception at the Lake Placid Golf House. My friend got married a couple of years ago and had her reception at the Hotel Saranac. Not sure if that's too far north for you. We are planning on having our rehersal dinner at the Lake Clear Lodge (which I've heard has really good food).
@sweetc LP Golf House is soooo beautiful! i can't hardly imagine a more beautiful venue!
it would be a dream for us to be married there, but it is way out of our budget (we're paying for everything ourselves). plus, our tiny reception would be dwarfed by that place.
I got information from Hotel Saranac and after a lot of thought figured it was just too far north.
I went to a bridal show sometime ago and came across a place called Blue Water Manor. I tried finding mor information about it online and the reviews of the place have been VERY mixed. And mostly just from people who vacationed there. I was hoping to find someone who knew of any wedding experiences there.
We had our wedding at North Woods Inn & Resort in Old Forge.
VERY AFFORDABLE and I would highly recommend it. PM me for more details if you'd like--I'm happy to help.
Haven't been on here in a while but we finally found a place. We are going with Blue Water Manor. I have to say that their website and some reviews i found kind of scared me off at first but after we got screwed over by Jimbo's Club (they gave away our date and told me it was a political thing/ Punks!) we decided to check it out ourselves and it is great. Right on the lake and has that rustic camp feel. We are very excited. Thank you everyone for your tips and help! Now we're trying to find a photog and DJ. Does anyone know anything about the Gallery 9 North photogs? Their site is full of GORGEOUS work.
Hi! We are looking to have our wedding in the adirondacks as well. However, our wedding is going to much smaller ( 60 to 80 ). Have you ever thought about looking into a renting a house? And then having a tent on the property? There are a million beautiful properties in ADK that could accommodate you. You just need to do some digging! Also, Check out the ADK forum. That message board is mainly for hikers, but they do have some wedding related forums as well. Are you looking to have it indoors, or out? Or does it not matter? I've also had a lot of help from Adirondack Weddings Head Quarters. The site owner is amazing, and has helped me a ton with some ideas. Good luck!

I recently helped my nephew find an Adirondack venue. There is a small town about 15 minutes outside of Lake Placid called Wilmington. There is a place there, Whiteface Cabins and Suites that has cabins that are rustic and very clean and sleep 2-6 people each. This place is located right next to the Northpole Motel and Campgrounds, so the area can accomodate as many or as few as needed. It is also next to the town beach and near Whiteface mountain and Santas workshop, so there's lots od family type things to do in the area. If you want an indoor reception there is a reception hall in town.

Good grief do i need some help/tips/suggestions. Recently got engaged and i'm starting to peruse wedding/reception sites in the Adirondacks and i'm having some trouble. I keep coming across the same five or six places and while the majority of them are gorgeous the price tags are painful. I'm trying to find something in the eastern/southernish portion but honestly i'll take any suggestions (really about anything) about having an ADK wedding. Also the southern outskirts of the ADKs are possibilities too. I just really want mountains! I know this isn't really specific in the question but the basics is still where i'm at mentally. Thanks in advance!
