@Evie19:  I have not been in this situation.  However, I would not give up hope yet. I am not an expert in airline baggage handling, but it’s possible that if the bags were of different sizes that some may have been in a different location than others and could have ended up in a different place.

Wow that would just piss me off. As PP said, don’t give up hope yet. Its in their best interest to find the bag, and its gotta be somewhere!

@Evie19:  Definitely do not give up hope.  Luggage is a several man operation for airlines.  The ticket agent puts it on the belt.  The belt leads to an unloader who passes it to security for screening. After that it goes to a sorter for all the different flights.  All this before it even gets escorted to the plane.  The bags are never lined up either they are kinda put in this big pile and they grab from it however they find the easiest.  It still has a chance of showing up!

It could be that they were all loaded onto different planes. Or at least one of them was. It might also be that one bag still remains at your departure airport.

However, recent experience of my son whose luggage was lost TWICE on the same trip from London to Salt Lake City and back – once at Tampa and then again on his homeward journey at Orlando – was that they are pretty good at actually finding baggage. At one point he was told his bag could be in either SLC, Denver or Orlando which didn’t sound at all hopeful but 24 hours later, his luggage was back in London and couriered down to his house

I hope you are soon reconciled with all of yours!

I lost my suitcase on the way home from Hawaii.  It ended up on the next day’s flight to my hometown, rather than the flight I was on.  Delivered the next afternoon with no problems.

Honestly, it happens. Hopefully they’ll find it. Usually if they don’t, you’ll get a certain amount from the airline, although it’s not a ton. Maybe like $150 or something. Hopefully they find it! I’ll keep my FX for you!

British Airways broke/lost half my luggage. I got 1000 dollars from them, though frankly it should have been more.

@Evie19:  I meant to add.  A lot of airlines have bag tracker on their sites.  You can use the little sticker they gave you and plug it in online and see the last place your bag was.
