Oh but it's not...the dark blue with a red heel is BEAUTIFUL.
What are your wedding colors? Do you want to try to match those? Do you want to have a pair you can wear after the big day? www.net-a-porter.com www.footcandyshoes.com www.barneys.com are my favorite places to look for CLou's.
Luckyyyy! I love CL's so much! I am trying to force myself not to buy a pair for the wedding or engagement pictures but I don't know if I can or not lol.
What are your wedding colors? How important is wearability after your wedding?
oooh, I have been trying to talk myself out of getting the Louboutins! I think I might have to jump on board with you though! I love the fuschia ones...
I talked myself out of them when I found a beautiful, comfortable pair of shoes for only $40... but I haven't completely talked myself out of them, obviously, because I am still constantly on the hunt for a pair of CLs in gold if I can find 'em. ;)
I think the blue with red sole would be fine, because anyone who knows shoes will know why you've got the color scheme you do--your something blue, and your something HOT! ;)
Otherwise, matching your wedding colors is probably a good way to go. I would have to say, though, to try to get a pair that you can wear again with other nice outfits, because your shoes will be too awesome to hide in your closet after the wedding. :)
HoneyBee - Awesome idea! I hadn't even considered wearing a pair for engagement pics - but why not?!?!
I've been trying to force myself not to buy a pair yet because I KNOW that I will wear those things out way before the wedding (05/29/10).
Our wedding colors are champange, light peach and ivory. Vintage, romantic & classic. :) And maybe a little bit of chocolate brown accents...I'm still deciding.
Blue heels under a white dress just seems so flirty and perfect...but I saw these yesterday and I think they would be fab for engagement pics (and maybe the rehersal dinner, ahem), I just love them all around: http://www.brownsfashion.com/product/97817.htm?siteid=Hy3bqNL2jtQ-d.gLmoniUMbEuMR5q4pj7Q
Marigold - I was thinking about gold Lou's too because our main color is champagne and my dress is lace. I love these gold ones: http://www.matchesfashion.com/fcp/product/cl-v-turbella-120ca//christian-louboutin-cl-v-turbella-120ca-shoes/10414?colour=gold&source=UK&siteid=61259
and these (they're a little SJP, but I LOVE them): http://www.matchesfashion.com/fcp/product/Matches-Fashion/womens/christian-louboutin-cl-w-frouprive120-s-shoes/10642?colour=nude
If you want something you can wear again, some of those highly coveted simple nude pumps would be perfect. They go with everything! And they totally fit within your color scheme. And they make your legs look fab fab fab (good for epics and rehearsal dinner and EVERYTHING else).
I agree with Chicagobride about nude being the way to go. But, there are a couple of different gold CLou's at Barneys.com
This is my favorite pair...Bow T Dorcet
I'm in love w/ these fuchia discoball-like beauties...

I would splurge on those! They're in gold.
OOOOOHHHHHH me likey! I love them all pretty much! Check out southern weddings (www.swsmag.net ) because there's a bride on the blog who has the loveliest CL's with the pink floaty petals!!! So many shoe pics of it!
@Miss Camel - those are EXACTLY the type of shoes I was looking for. Now I just need to convince FI that we can spend $900 on my shoes (we can't!), and myself that it's just fine if I shoot past 6' tall. ;) Those are some massive heels!!!
I'm all for encouraging a CL purchase! I am envious of those who are comfortable in a 4inch heel, because those are the heels that look the best for CL! Absolutely do not worry about blue with a red sole. I love that red sole no matter what! I love the gold Turbella, and you will definitely wear them again! The leather is so luscious, have you tried it on yet? But, how can you turn down the petal shoe with the wedding blue insole? Can you get both? heehee. Since you're looking at UK sites, also visit Pam Jenkins in Edinburgh. I decided against CL for me, only because I'm not used to the height, and the nude low peep toe I wanted is not current and hard to find. Although, the shoe I'm going to wear is not much lower than the turbella...
I'm going to San Francisco to try on wedding dresses in two weeks - we're going to go visit Barney's while we're there and (hopefully, I'm not buying a pair unless I'm absolutely in LOVE with them) purchase my first pair of Loubies! I feel so excited!!! I can't wait to have that soft soft leather on my feet! YAY YAY YAY! :) :)
Sigh....wish I could have afforded a pair of CL's...it didn't make sense practically for me...but gosh there are so many beautiful options, I am so jealous!
Miss Caramel~ Go to the Saks in SF, it's on the corner across from the Westin downtown. They have a huge CL selection...not that i would know. :) I may or may not have bought a pair last time we were there.
@KateMW - YOU CRACK ME UP...
@Miss Carmel - my vote is the 2nd pair (the SJP) pair. I LOVE those!
I just have to say these are probably my favorite Louboutin's

@thecolorteale~ Yeah, those are all sorts of fantastic, but aren't they old? I remember a similar pair a couple of years ago, but haven't seen anything similar sense. I'd love to find them if they're recent. I love bows, it's a sickness.
I have been dreaming about the red peeptoe Loubous for the last little while too...and I can't convince myself that its ok to buy $700 shoes. But a girl can dream right? I'm all in favor of expensive shoes so if anyone needs some encouragement to shop let me know, I'm happy to be your cheerleader!
@KateMW - "i may or may not have..." is one of my favorite phrases!! i laughed out loud when i read that :)
i love the look too... not really because of the red soles but because the tailoring on the shoe is often so fantastic. I'd say a nude color would be great.
I agree that you should just go and try all of them on ... even look in the book and have some brought in for you because not every store has the same styles.
Make sure you splurge on ones that you can wear out after the wedding day!!!!!!!!!!
Depending on how high you want ... and to add that platform are most comfy ... these are so hot and champagne and at Barneys!
and I did a search and you can see all the CL shoes all over the internet here:

I was already addicted to theoutnet.com but I now have a new obsession with shopstyle.com. LOL I am in love with the brown heels with the bow on the back, where did you find them? They are luxe!!
I wore CLs for my August wedding. Sorry, don't have a photo yet from my phototog but here's the style. They were very light nude color satin.
mkendrick - I love those - they're perfect for a wedding and they can be worn over and over again after the big day! Where did you buy yours at?
MIss Carmel - I got them on sale at Net-a-porter (still pricey but at least not AS pricey :) )! I don't think they have them anymore but keep your eyes open, they may pop up again (I'll keep my eyes opening for them for you too.) They look beautiful on, go with a multitude of colors and you're right - I've already worn them again! :) My phototog says she's blogging us next week so I'll post any actual pix of them she has.
Found the most amazing pair of CL swarovski crystal pumps...I am dying for them!!! FI will NOT give the green like for them boo :( Im a big fan of the crystal ones though... lovelovelove CL!!

After browsing through my wedding magazines (there are many) and ripping out pages of things I loved and then organizing them in my wedding binder, I noticed a pattern. I ripped out a ton of Louboutin shoe images. There's just something about the red sole that I think is so sexy and unique. It's just one of those unexpected surprises. I've made my mind up that I have to have Louboutins for my wedding. I've already talked to Mr. Carmel and he said that the really expensive shoe thing is fine as long as it doesn't cause other really expensive must-have items to suddenly pop into our wedding.
So now that I have the green light, I'm trying to figure out what color I want. I'm loving blue shoes with my white dress, but blue shoes and red soles with a white dress feels too patriotic. Any other suggestions???
