Louisiana bride here 🙂 I am getting married in May. My FI doesn’t hunt, but both of us are huge footbal fanatics. No time for a wedding during football season here ;).

@Lakenlynn:  I did not get married in Louisiana, although I am from there. I have been to many, many weddings in the Spring. It can be extremely hot, even in March/April– so if you’re planning on something outdoors, then just make sure you have that in mind. Also, it rains a lot in the Spring ( duh), so that is another thing to contend with.

My wedding is in October because it is just too damn hot here and I hate the mosquitos and want to get married outside.

What about February?  Still decently cool out then.  Or check the schedule and do it during a by week?

I get the hunting thing, thankfully my FI only goes hog hunting once a year in Texas and usually in January.

Too bad y’all weren’t willing to wait because February would probably be perfect.  I wouldn’t go any farther than April I think.  Should still be cool enough then hopefully.

@Lakenlynn:  Also, if you need any help or advice on anything, let me know.  I’m also a florist. 🙂

@Lakenlynn:  we are getting married in May because I have a school aged child, and we wanted to not affect the school year as much as we can. Our wedding is in a church, so I’m not very concerned with the weather.

I’m with ya on the hunting thing. I got engaged in November of 2012 and the fiance already knew i wasn’t waiting til 2014 to get married, so i chose November 16…opening day of deer hunting. That didn’t go over so well with him and some others, but we compromised. And you know what, he can go hunting all his life, let me have my day!!! haha

Oh, and of course I had to plan around football season as well, couldn’t have my wedding the same night as LSU, so we chose a bye week!

@Lakenlynn:  I live in Walker but we’re having a Baton Rouge wedding in February! I wanted a fall wedding too but decided it just wasn’t worth it because we’re both so into football. I honestly didn’t want to wait any longer than absolutely necessary so our wedding is the weekend after the superbowl (which the Saints will obviously win).
