We are down to the wire with choosing a cateror, and we have to select from our venue’s list. (Muhammad Ali Center). Have any of you been to a wedding or recent event that either Jarfi’s, Masterson’s or Lady Fingers has catered? Wanted to know how the taste of the food was, as well as the look of the set up, and if anyone recommended a particular dish?

@jackielore: I haven’t been to an event with any of them, but I have sampled Masterson’s and Ladyfingers at bridal shows. I have to say I really loved Ladyfingers. Their pork tenderloin and the roast beef they had there was great. I got a quote from them and it was reasonable. I figure if they cater the Barnstable Brown event then they should be good enough for my little old wedding. I almost went with them, but then the bakery that I decided on for my cake (Heitzman’s) also does catering so we decided to keep it all with one company. Their food is excellent too. Hope this helps.

I’ve used Masterson’s for catering for other events (we’re stuck with a single caterer thanks to our venue). It was very very good. The event I was in charge of had been going on for over 70 years and everyone there told me it was the best food they’d ever had. We just did a buffet for that and the set up look very professional.
Another thing to consider is that Masterson’s also gives discounts if you do the rehearsal dinner and reception with them. We’re doing our rehearsal dinner at Captain’s Quarters and they are a Masterson’s company.

I’ve been to events with all three caterers.
Jarfi’s was my least favorite. I was not impressed with the food at all. I’ve only personally heard a couple of good reviews on the quality of their food, service, price, and professionalism. For the most part they’ve been bad to mediorce reviews.
Masterson’s is decent but for the price I feel like you could get much better food. But other than that I don’t have any complaints.
Ladyfinger’s has impressed me the most out the three. They are easy to work with. Extremely well priced. Friendly. Professional. And the food is delicious. They really try to help you get the most bang for your buck.

I’ve been to a wedding catered by Masterson’s and thought it was very good. FI still talks about their au gratin potatoes from time to time.

Jackielore, we’re also getting married at the Ali Center. Out of curiosity, what’s made you cut off the other caterers from their list?

We are getting married at the Olmsted and just had our tasting. They use mastersons upper division and it was great!

@Willow1991: That’s where I had the Mastersons. Not sure if it varies by location, but it was tasty!

@Natalieh86: I think it does. The Olmsted uses “Upper Division” service of Masterson’s and I don’t think you can get it off site. Not exactly sure what is so different. The prices aren’t any different. I think it is The Olmsted trying to keep a good reputation maybe?
