One of the weirdest things about getting older is that I get wiser - and I always thought when I was younger that my parents were stupid!  Go figure.

    :D

Now that the days are rolling by quickly I find myself thinking about what it really means to be marrying Nick. You see, I always maintain that love is a choice - an action and not just a feeling.  You choose to love your spouse every time you cook dinner, say 'I'm sorry', or even just listen.

Because we've acknowledged that quite openly - that we're choosing each other - it's made all the difference in the world from our early days.

If you guys had to describe the person you love as any one word - what would it be?

I have TONS for Nicholas, but above all it would be DEPENDABLE.I can count on him to ALWAYS do what he says he's going to do... and so can anyone else.

So what about your future Mr./Mrs. Your Last Name?  One word and the why.  :D

Kind.  He is truly the kindest most understanding person I know.

Gosh, only one? That's tough but I like this post. Mine is a toss-up between Sweet, Kind, and Dependable. Actually, forgiving and understanding come to mind too. No way can I pick one!!!

My word for Chris is "gentleman".  He calls me "dear" and opens doors for me.  He makes sure he kisses me every morning before he leaves.  He puts his arms around me when I am cold.  I just love being treated like a lady!

So hard to choose just one but if I have to,  that would be "authentic".  No poses, no masks, since the beginning he showed himseld the way he was. He is true ti himself and his heart is the most genuine one.

One word is very hard, if you asked me tomorrow I might pick another word.

But I think the best one (for today) I can think of to sum it all up is

dependable :) he is always there when I need him, he always does things for others while taking care of himself, I can count on him for everything whether it is something small (like making me a quick lunch for work) or large. He is always there.

i went home last night and asked hubby what his word would be for me and he said "loving"...insert ohhhhhh now

my word for him would be honourable.

to me, honor isnt just about be an honest person. its about how you conduct your life every single day, its about being kind and just, being dependable, noble & ethical - there are so many other things i could bore you with but this is all rolled up into my hubby.

    Amazing.

He is always there for me, and does whatever he can for me. I'm thanked when I cook, when i have a good idea, or whenever i do anything for him. He'll always listen and keep secrets. He'll do pinky promises when i ask and obide by the sacred pinky promise rules. lol. he can make me laugh no matter what mood i'm in.  But mostly because he loves me just the way i am, flaws and all.

    Thoughtful.

We met over nine years ago and have lived apart for a lot of those. Even though we weren't together then, he wrote me real, live, paper letters for five years (insert awwww here).

easygoing.  Is that one word?  Because it fits him, he's laid back, chill and always thoughtful and helpful.  I tend to be more on the high strung side so it is a good balance!  He helps keep me grounded!

Maybe it's not the most manly word, but I noticed it about him the second we met.

    Quiet

While it doesn't sum him up , or show how supportive and amazing he s to me , it's important to understand him that he's quiet. His expressions are muted  , he doesn't say anything unless he really feels it needs to be said. Knowing this , and knowing him , it's the little things that really show me how much he cares.

    Patient.

I'm surprised I haven't seen it on here already, but that's totally the one word that would sum up my FI perfectly. He is the most patient man I have ever met - which is great since sometimes I can be a little crazy. He stays calm and waits to hear out the end of every argument, and is always there to just hold me when I'm having a bad day. I've never met anyone else quite like him, and I'm thankful everyday that I've found someone who can be so patient with me and everyone else around him.

can I say "mine" also? If not, easy-going is what comes to mind. Kinda cheating, I know.

He's laid back, chill, and goes with the flow. He keeps me in check. I need that, I really do. He has the right balance of nonchalant "E, chill, it's not a big deal!" and getting serious when it needs to be done. He's also "loving" but, I think that's a cop out on a board titled "love" lol

I've pulled a blank on this for days. I simply don't have A good word that describes the whole of him. I can use A word to describe a piece of him or a part of his personality or nature...

    I just don't have ONE word =].

    Respectful.

It sounds a little "non romantic," but to me, it encompasses kind, loving, etc, etc.  He has a deep respect for everyone that means that he is NEVER mean.  It's not on purpose - it's just who he is.  He respects people (and animals) enough to treat them well, and he respects himself enough to be true to himself.

Ay yay yay.  I love this man.  Embarassed

Entertaining. Sort of strange, I guess, but my mister is a musician and and under-cover commedian. He makes me laugh. Always. Even when I don't feel like laughing.

    Devoted.

My husband is devoted to many things. And when he devotes himself to something, whether it's playing Mafia Wars on Facebook or marrying me, he devotes himself fully.

    Generous.

He's truly the most generous person I've ever met.  He'll give whatever is needed (his time, money, love, loyalty, skills, etc) whenever someone he cares about needs it.  But he's also very good at receiving these things as well, so he knows how to keep a great balance in his life.  His generocity amazed me even from the first days of our relationship.

Caring - although I also like chelseamorning's devoted!

He takes such good care of me - because he *wants* to and *likes* doing it. He sees it as one of his main roles/desires. Even just little things like doing the dishes (we don't live together) so I can study, bringing me a glass of water etc.

I especially like it because we're on the same wavelength and often know what the other wants without having to ask :) Which makes our LAOKs both helpful and sweet.

I'm going to say supportive.  He's a cross country coach, and the positive attitude he has with his athletes is in everything he does.  He supports me no matter what, and lets me know it with both his actions and his words.
