I just sent off the first e-mail to the BF with my e-ring stats and "criteria", and I've come back to wanting an antique again. I've tried on several engagement rings but the last place I went, I kept trying on the antique over and over....alas, I've fallen in love all over again! In my web searching, I've come across some that just make my heart flutter. The last is probably out of the budget but I reeeeealllly love it. The rest are close seconds and certainly more affordable....now the REAL waiting begins!

Yes, very beautiful ring.  I have a weakness for antique looks.

good call crecre! i'll def send him the pricescope link! i started looking at engagement rings in earnest sometime last spring - or shall i say, fantasizing... hehehe.... and a local magazine i subscribed to recommended this antique jewelry store for buying inexpensive wedding jewelry. i went on their website and was so shocked that they had such amazing stuff that wasn't really that expensive. i started looking into estate and antique enagement rings and became enamored with pretty much everything i saw. and then i shelved my search. after BF actually asked me what i wanted recently, i decided to start with a clean slate and look at EVERYTHING! so i went on some e-ring recon, and every place i went, the antique or antique styles i tried were always my favorites (and generally looked the best). i work in a design industry so detail and craft is really important to me. so hopefully i'll get something really cool that won't break the bank!

@jaxx: tee hee you called me cre cre!! a lot of my family does as well (from my first name) bre is from my middle.. but i think pricescope is definitely a wonderful research engine versus having to personally do it, it's already been done by many many people you know...

I love the antique look!!! I have a princess ring that's 5 generations old and I almost dread passing it on to my future daughter.

I have an antique e-ring and wedding band that belonged to my FH's grandmother...its gorgeous and so meaningful as he was very close to his grandmother.  I think its so much better that the ring have a great history/story than just be flashy.  I get so many compliments on it becuase you dont see things like it anymore...nearly perfect diamonds, hand cut, amazing setting...definitely the way to go :)

    ps i love ring #1
