So now that my color situation is straightened out, I’ve decided to do a love birds theme. (I’m a little late in this dept since our reception is in October, but we eloped in May and I didn’t want it to be a year later and be awkward). So I’m cramming everything in as best i can, pretty much knowing NOTHING about wedding planning…
I was thinking of doing a birdcage centerpiece with a love bird tealight candle and maybe wrap a ribbon around it. Does anyone have any other ideas? Also, how big should the centerpiece be? I keep finding the little cages only about 5 inches high..which seems awfully small..
Love bird serving set..I found only one and I was a big fan of it..I’ve been googling this for a while…anyone know where I might be able to find this? My invites had silver hearts on them, so I’m wondering if I might even just want to keep the Lenox True Love server I already bought…

@Pixie26: I was recently looking thru the Oriental Trading catalog (wedding edition) and Im pretty sure they had a whole section on the “love birds” theme. Maybe you can get some ideas or even items from there. (they also have a website)

@Pixie26: I nearly went this route with our colours. I found quite a bit of stuff and it’s romantic. Good luck.

We’re doing a love birds theme! There was soooo much stuff at Michael’s & Hobby Lobby last month but I noticed it’s all been replaced with fall/halloween stuff (at least in my area). Here’s what we’re doing:
Chicken wire frame to clothespin bird cutout escort cards
Love birds banner on head table
Mini wood birdcages for kids to color
White bird cage card holder
Our centerpieces are mason jars w/ candles and flowers so we haven’t really incorporated there.
Out save the dates and invites also have love birds theme
Our wedding website is love birds design.
There’s so many ideas if you jsut keep looking!

@HappyInLove11: Great idea! Never thought of looking in Oriental Trading. I’ll have to check and see what they’ve got.
@MrsN14: I saw the white bird cage card holder. It’s adorable! That’s right the head table…hmm..I always thought it was excessive planning a year in advance, but now I totally get it! so much to do in such a short period of time…

@Pixie26: If you did birdcage centerpieces I think it’d be pretty to fill them with flowers or even a fake craft store nest.
I don’t know where your venue is but what about branch centerpieces?
They’re pretty popular right now and have the possibility of being cheaper than bird cages. I have even seen some people on pinterest who have made them theirselves.
You can spray paint them any color you want to. Depending on how crafty you are and your wedding colors I also saw a DIY project to make little bird feeders as favors. Here is the link below.
I thought about doing a love bird theme but ultimatly decided not to. But when I was thinking about that theme I though it would be cute to use to favors to decorate the trees or even as escort cards.
Check out save on crafts. They have tons of awesome wedding stuff, mostly inexpensive, including bird cages, nests and fake eggs.

@FutureMrsSlagle: Thanks so much for your suggestion! Those are beautiful. That website is actually where I intended to order the bird cages from. A friend of mine is very creative and loves doing arts and crafts (plus she’s very good it), so she’s going to help with that side of things. I’ll def send her this pic and see what she can do with it.

We are also doing a love birds theme. I am loving all of the ideas! I definitely have to check out Oriental Trading! Thanks! 🙂
We’re having our cake toppers made from the wonderful RedLightStudio on Etsy. You can purchase the love birds with a little nest to sit on top of your cake.
For our card holder, I’ve been eyeing the lovely white birdcages from Save-on-crafts.com. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/birds.html
For our place card holders, we are using birdcarge/tealight holders which can also double up as a favor. Tealights and a second card to use as a matching escort card included. http://www.beau-coup.com/wedding/rustic-birdcage-place-card-tea-light-holder.htm
We also found these cute love bird table numbers from etsy seller: tifzippy

@mazzybee: I ordered the large bird cages on save on crafts. I don’t have them yet, but I’m hoping they’re decent quality. I’m using them as our centerpieces. Etsy is wonderful! There’s so much great stuff on there. I ordered little personalized labels with love birds for hershey’s kisses yesterday. So many websites wanted over $50 bucks for 100 kisses with stickers already placed on them. I paid $16 bucks with shipping and will gladly save the money and put them on myself 🙂
