I think that's so adorable! I would definitely consider it if I was going to be wearing a crinoline!

I would, but their dresses are very dark brown lol. I was thinking of making that my something blue instead of my shoes. I was thinking brightly colored shoes and crinoline might be too much... unless I do the same color??? I'm just IN LOVE.

@krissycake   I LOVE it. I love how it just peeks out from underneath. Adorable!!

great tutorial krissy... really makes me say hmmmmm since one of our colors is  a cool slate blue color.... i cannot wait to get my dress in to see if the dress is poofy enough, but i've read reviews that it won't need it c'est la vie.. this is definitely crebre-able :D

I love the colored crinoline idea! Unfortunately, we'll be in the hottest part of the state for our possibly outdoor wedding... ughhh tulle sticking to legs = not good!

I want to do this but I can't sort out how to do the dyeing in a front loading washing machine. Anybody know?

I'm doing it! Either red, or i'm going to edge the crinoline in black satin ribbon.

I have to do this! Even my FH loves this idea. I will do it in blue so that it can match our wedding colors and serve as my something blue.

elliemae - You can get a crinoline especially made for mermaid/trumpet gowns.  Usually a trumpet gown looks better with one because it keeps the bottom poofed out nicely.

I originally didn't want a crinoline on mine, but am now toying with the idea of getting a not-so-full one just so I can dye it!

@ejoyb: I have a front load and I am going to put it in the bleach dispenser. Hopefully that will work.

I just checked the RIT dye site, and it looks like they also have the dye in a powder, so depending on what color you are looking for, if you have a front loading machine, you might try the powder, instead of the liquid.

I love it, though it looks like I'm going to have to DIY on this one.

I saw a bride recently who had it and it looked so gorgeous.

OHMYGOSH this is the best thing I've seen today, hands down.

I just found "the dress" last night and it's not the kind that would look good with colored crinoline :(

i am doing a dyed crinoline thanks to that first picture of the purple crinnie. my colors are light purple and ivory. i can't wait to try it, and if it doesn't turn out, not a big loss. i only paid $20 for my crinoline off craigslist :)

Ooo, I might try this with a cheap crinoline (and not the one I bought). That was if I feel too burlesque I always have my white one!
