Ours is LOW as well.  I think part of it has to do with the economy, and travel being expensive, as well as people who don’t attend can send a cheaper (or as we have seen so far in our case, NO gift.)

I try hard every day to tell myself that it will still be a good time!

I know hotchildinthecity had a similar issue to this, but her wedding was Saturday, we probably won’t hear from her for a bit!

Karina, we got like 15-20 declines, we have only gotten 3 cards… crazy, eh?  And that’s not to mention the people that just didn’t send back their cards & we had to track down, there are probably another 10 there.

Everyone’s lack of response leads me to believe that we won’t be hearing from them again.. but it definately lets me know who values their relationship with us, and who doesn’t!

How about an email letting me know you can’t be there?  No, we have to facebook you, call you twice & leave a text message, never to get a response.. right, good friend.

Ha, I have some anger inside of me about this issue, clearly 🙂

Oh my gosh, I had a friend forget about my shower too!  I didn’t think that this stuff was common.. turns out it is!

We had about an 80% rate, but we had a small wedding (<100). I think the rate goes down as you invite more distant (relationship closeness-wise) friends and relatives.

In all honesty, you will not know *anything* until the wedding day actually arrives. It doesn’t do anyone any good to stress out beforehand when you are not able to see the future. Those who love you and want to attend will do whatever it takes to be there.

We are a year out yet, but I can already tell you that our acceptance rate will be less than 50%, we are sending invitations to the obligatory family members who are out of state and friends that would rather be boating ( i would have the wedding on a boat if I could because that is where I would rather be).

We invited 140 guests and have a 100 person minimum at our reception facility and I am almost positive that we won’t make the 100 person mark.  We have 85 “yeses” right now and I don’t expect it to increase much – so that’s about 60%.  Most people are local.  It is a holiday weekend, but I sent STDs in January to the majority of our guest list.  Oh well, what can you do?

Right now I have a 53% yes rate with 27 or so people left to respond. There are just tons of weddings over the summer, and people are also going on vacation. Sigh.

I am sure it has to do with the July vacation season.  I am sorry. 🙁   I’ll come, lol,  only kidding 🙂   Enjoy your day no matter who comes to celebrate with you.  It’s for you and your FI
