Hello Bees! This is my first Post on WB, but I have been hooked for quite a while now. FI and I originally set a wedding date for 10-13-2012, however, we ended up pushing our date back because my father was in a motocycle accident and wouldn’t have been able to travel to our wedding. We are ready to book a new date some time next summer (we are thinking late May early June). Our originaly Venue (Avon Inn) was not exactly easy to work with, so we decided not to use them. The problem that we are having is that most venues are booked already, or they are too expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions for a low cost reception hall that will hold about 120 people? We have looked into the community center at Charlotte Beach, but I am not thrilled with the fact that it looks like an old school gym. I am willing to work with it, but I thought I would ask for other ideas first. Thanks for all your help, ladies!

Hi KTGoots: … First Off I see you are NEW to WBee… so Welcome to “the Hive”
You have posted this on the RECEPTION BOARD, which is fine… and you will probably get some replies here.
BUT as you are looking for info that is also LOCATION specific, you might want to also post it on the NEW YORK BOARD
You can find it, by clicking on the LOCAL TAB that appears near the top of this page (over the various categories of Discussion Boards)… then just follow the links to the right place geographically… MID ATLANTIC – NEW YORK / UPSTATE
Oftentimes, Bees from particular regions tend to find it easier to “connect” on issues via their Locations vs the 1000s of posts that come in to the more general categories.
Hope this helps,
PS… LOVE Upstte NY and the Rochester area. If you are flexible, you might want to also look at spots in the “greater” Finger Lakes Region as well … also very beautiful. Guessing there might be some decent venues in that region between all the Wineries, State Parks, etc
