A spa day sounds like a great idea. I see you’re in CA. Are their wineries near by? We’re doing a wine tasting tour for my bachlorette.

My sister in law suggested we do a painting class for my bachelorette as I want to do something more low key as well. There are a few different places here that walk you through the steps of recreating a painting and have wine tasting at the same time. They offer specials on Groupon and Living Social all the time.

@lulu_honey:  I’m from Cleveland originally 🙂

there are actually some decent wineries in Ohio if you’re interested. Heres a link to the Ohio wineries main page.

@lulu_honey:  That’s almost exactly what we did for my bachelorette, and it was wonderful!  Nice relaxing time with friends.  I originally had won hair & makeup from a makeup artist for my whole party, so we scheduled everything around that, but she cancelled (with less than 24 hour notice…  not that I’m bitter), so we ended up just hanging out in between, having some snacks, and getting dressed up.  It was probably better that way!

Many towns have caterers/chefs that will come do in home cooking classes and prepare a gourmet meal for the group. I would highly recommend looking into that. Sounds like it may be a perfect ending to a relaxing spa day for everyone for something fun and different. To make it special get a scrap book and give each attendee one in advance. Have them decorate one side with pics, little memories, etc of them with the bride and then on the other side share a favorite recipe of theirs. Makes a nice personal memento for the bride for years to come.

We are doing a pool party and bbq just for the girls. My mum is also throwing me a little party when I get back to the uk. It’s either going to be a lunch or an afternoon tea.

Have a make up party…Get a make up artist to do 50’s style ‘pin up’ @ home. I loved the idea of going for a girly pamper day and then a photo shoot. Another idea would be a ‘sleepover’ with girly films, bubbly, mani-pedi’s, facepacks, pizza…

The spa party sounds so relaxing! For my bachelorette party, since I’m not a party/bar kind of girl, we had a wig-out party at home with my friends. Good food and games, we all a blast! 🙂

Probably not an option in December, but I also wanted a “nontraditional” bachelorette.  We went to a country concert and it was a complete blast!

I just came back from my BP a few weeks ago and wanted it low key and no strippers! We ended up going to a spa resort and got pampered. Of course we had drinking too, but we ended up just drinking in our rooms.

Good luck!

@lulu_honey:  I don’t know much about my bachelorette event but I do know that it’s a spa day. I think that’s perfect! I’m not into the penis pops and jello shots and all that business. So a nice relaxing girly day seems like an appropriate way to go on the other end of the spectrum.
