at my last ultrasound, the doctor mentioned something about me having a ‘low lying placenta’ or ‘marginal placenta previa.’
i have been doing some reading on it, and most women do not have it by the time of delivery. usually the placenta migrates to where it is supposed to be by the time the baby is due. however, if the placenta does NOT move, most women have to deliver early and have a c-section.
did any of you have this? did your placenta move back to where it should be before the baby came? would love more info about this!

I did…. My midwife wasn’t worried about it at all. She said it’s VERY common & explained it like this…
“If you place a piece of gum on the inside of a balloon near the entrance and then blow it up, it moves up the wall as the balloon expands.”
I’ll be having my next u/s sometime in the next few weeks but from my midwife’s initial reaction I’m not worried about it.

@runsyellowlites: yes, the doctor just told me that we would “be needing to keep an eye on it.” that was all the info i got. thanks for sharing–i am definitely not as worried!
