Darling Husband and I are getting ready to paint our nursery. We are planning to use low VOC paint, but haven’t done much research on brands. We have a color chosen, which is by Behr, but I can’t find online anything about Behr offering low VOC paint. If you use a different brand, will they match a color? Anyone have any recommendations on paint to use?

We recently bought a house and repainted all the rooms. We used Behr the first time we repainted the bathroom and it was awful. The color looked nothing like it was supposed to and it stunk like nail polish remover. The rest of the rooms we used Benjamin Moore. The Aura line is considered the best for low VOC paint. We used the Ben line which is cheaper but still low VOC and it looks great! I’ve found that in our area it’s mostly smaller Ace/True Value stores that carry Benjamin Moore and the employees are extremely helpful when choosing paint type and colors, so just ask! Good luck.

Lowes’ house brand, Valspar, is a no-VOC paint and it’s really afforable. Like $20 a gallon. I’ve used it to paint all of the rooms in my house and it’s worked great with no paint smell.

I’ll definitely check out Valspar. We have a lowes a few minutes from our house, so it’ll be pretty convenient. I hope they can match our color. It’s our first time painting on our own, so picking out the paint is new to us.
