I am back from my second dress fitting, and a few more things have been altered on "Fauxcinda". The sweetheart neckline was deepened, the dress was lengthened, the sweep train was added, and the pockets were moved. I think we are getting closer to the real Lucinda. Now Brandie Thomas is ready to purchase the actual material for the dress!

So I've posted before about how I love the Lucinda dress from jcrew but simply cannot afford it. I used Etsy alchemy to find people who could recreate this dress for me. I found Brandie Thomas, aka BeyondTheReflection, who is recreating the dress for me at a fraction of the price!
I promised pictures as the fittings progressed, and here are some.
These are pictures from the very first fitting. This is only the muslin mock up, so basically, Brandie will use this dress as a pattern for when she cuts the real fabric for my dress.
Also, I don't have the crinoline lining layer under this, so the dress skirt will eventually have more umph.
We didn't get any head to toe pictures, but I will post more as we have more fittings. I am very pleased as to how this is turning out so far!
(If these pictures are too big, you can find them on my blog: http://jennybryde.wordpress.com)
