I am looking for some luggage considerations for our honeymoon (first time buying for each of us).
I need one piece of luggage, and probably will be getting a duffle bag style one as a carry on.
We have a registry but will probably wait for a good sale at Sears, Winners, etc.
I’m hoping to find a brand that offers spinners (four wheels), is light weight and easy to roll, durable, and has a compartment for garments (e.g., a suit or a dress)
Thank you for any advice!

I don’t know if they have spinners, but DVF luggage is beautiful and durable. the most versatile piece is the wheeled duffle: http://www.sears.com/diane-von-furstenberg-signature-20inch-2-wheeled-duffel/p-SPM7466134810?prdNo=5&blockNo=5&blockType=G5
you can fit a surprising amount in that bag, and I have never had an issue using it as a carry on. The regular luggage always has a garment compartment, a toiletries bag, and the larger ones also have what I would describe as a pseudo hamper, which I think is great for the end of trips!

Travelpro is a HUGE amongst the flight crew/airline world. They really stand behind their product and I can fit a ton of stuff. Ironically my favorite luggage so far is a rollerbag made by Burton (snowboard company). It has a plastic supports but the rest is soft and can really be “packed until it bursts!”

On the pricer size is Samsonite, they will last a long time. Otherwise American Traveler is good too. Spinners are amazing! I have a large suitcase with spinners and it is the most amazing thing.

Also a huge fan of Samsonite; my family uses those. You can find them at a discount at Marshalls/Nordstrom Rack/Ross if you aren’t looking for a full set. (colors can be mismatched at the discount stores!)

I’ll also go with Samsonite !

Samsonite makes excellent luggage… my first set by them (hard-sided) lasted 20+ years !!
Soft-sided lugggage doesn’t last as long (5 to 10 years max… either the zippers go, the fabric rips, or the metal frame / extension handles on rolling items get bent / broken) … BUT soft-sided luggage is a lot cheaper, and with the added flexibilty, you can generally cram a lot more into it.
IF I was in the market for soft-sided “duffel styles” (with OR without wheels)… I’d take a look at LL Bean. Their stuff is well made, and they have a life-time warranty of their products.

AND BONUS… you can get it personalized / monogramed as well.
Hope this helps,

I have Dakine stuff. It’s got a lifetime warranty if you so much as break a zipper. And cute patterns!

I ended up buying a TravelPro, which is what the store recommended for quality and durability (we travel a lot for work). Originally I was going to buy a spinner but I was advised not to as the wheels are exposed and more prone to being broken, especially when the bags are checked and being handled a lot.

My luggage is Anne Klein. It is beautiful and water resistant. I don’t have a 4-wheel but I know they make it. I got it from Macy’s, and I was able to check out their whole luggage section when I was there, and it looked pretty good [the selection].
