Last week I was very excited to post about my bfp. On the weekend, I cupped my very sore and swollen breasts and noticed a lump that isnt usually there. I called the doctors office, really thinking they would say it’s a normal early pregnancy symptom. They didn’t. They said come in tomorrow. I went for the.examination where the doctor said it was probably normal until she felt it, then she said, im going to send you for an ultrasound. Call them right away to book an appointment. I had my ultrasound the next day (today). The technician felt the lump, took quite a.few pictures, with arrows and markings, she then did my armpit with the same markings. I have to wait for my doctor to call to get the results. I am freaking out, with worst case scenarios constantly in my head. Has anyone had the appearance of a lump in early pregnancy?

I am sure that they are being overly cautious due to you being pregnant but it is hard not to worry. Most lumps are benign but it is always best to get them checked throughly especially during pregnancy. Since breasts go through changes during pregnancy lumps that we haven’t noticed before can become feelable/visible. Chances are this is just a cyst that has been there for a long time. But if not medical technology has advanced so much. One of the ladies in my support group carried to term and then had agressive treatment and both mum and baby are healthy and happy today.
Try not to worry until you have the results, although from past experience that is impossible. So just focus more on the positive things going on in your life at the moment- like being pregnant and less on the negative. Do some fun stress relieving activities like yoga or your favourite past time/activity.

Yes. The doctor found a lump when I was about 2 months pregnant. By 4 months he said I needed to see a surgeon. He examined me. Said it was probably nothing but the only way to know was to take it out. I had it removed with a local as anesthesia would not be good for the baby. One of the easiest surgeries I have ever had. The lump was benign and I only needed 1 Tylonol for pain. I was happy I did it. I was able to relax and enjoy my baby. Hope everything turns out well for you too.

I wasn’t pregnant, but I was still freaked out when a big ol’ lump showed up on my right side. It turned out to be a cyst of some sort. It actually comes and goes. Crossing my fingers for you! Please keep up us updated.

This article states that 80 – 85% of breast lumps are noncancerous in those under 40. Please try not to worry 😉

I had a previous lump about the size of marble that ended up being a benign cyst. When I got pregnant though it got huge! 6 months PP and it’s back to normal size. Good luck and try not to worry. I’m sure it’s nothing to be concerned about!

Thank you for your encouragement. The wait over the weekend for results is going to be the longest.

I’ll say a prayer that this is all ok! Doctors do tend to be ultra conservative about these things. My doctor felt a change in my breasts after I finsihed nursing. She send me for an U/S and a mamogram (luckily the place I do reads diagnostice mamos while you wait, so I knew the results right away). Even when those results came back ok, she still sent me to a surgeon to feel teh lump. It’s hard not to worry, but most of the time, it’s ok, and teh docs are just super cautious.

I wasn’t pregnant but I had a fibroadenoma, just a benign tumor. I had the ultrasound and they decided to do a biopsy. It was scary sounding but wasn’t really that bad. I ended up having it removed surgically. If they biopsy it and think it’s just a fibro, then you could just leave it or get it removed after the baby. I was sore for a few days, but it wasn’t that bad! (mine was about 5 cm wide) Praying for you, hang in there. It will all be okay. CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!
