I have had a heard lump on my shoulder for awhile it almost feels like bone but it wasnt there before. I went to the dr and she laughed and told me its the joint and its always been there. That was about a month ago. I took that answer and was like maybe I am nuts… now it is even more pronouced and i get an achy feeling in that shoulder. I made another Dr appt but can not get in till the second week of Jan. I am getting worried has anyone ever had anything like this before??

Sorry, no help here, but I have had a lump on my upper back/shoulder for several years now. It feels like it has gradually gotten bigger. It isn’t hard like bone though; it has more of a rubbery feel. It doesn’t ache, but itches a bit sometimes. I should probably get it checked out, but can’t afford it. :/

I’m not sure what it is but I would go to another doctor. If it’s achey you might have some inflammation in the joint or something.

My husband has a few lumps that were gettingbigger but after having them checked he found out they were just fatty deposits that formed in lumps. Maybe that’s what it is? Either way if you’re concerneat heat they are getting bigger then it’s best to get another opinion.

I had a lump on the back of my neck, but it was squishy. I think my brother had a couple hard ones in his arm, and they were harmless cysts that he had removed? I would definitely go to a second dr just to put your mind at ease! YOU know your body better than your doctor; you live in it every day. Doctors definitely do not know everything all the time!

@nycbrde2011: Out of curiousity, were/are you an athlete? The reason I ask is that my Mom was a pitcher and she had calcification build up on her shoulder over time. Could that be it? No matter what, I’d definitely recommend seeing another physician for a second opinion. Trust your gut!

I wouldnt call my self an athlete but I am athletic and work out quite a bit. Most of my family thinks it sounds like calcium build up but I am pretty worried
