Our wedding will be on a Sunday, and we want to serve lunch at the reception. The ceremony will probably be 30 minutes, and the reception would start right after (same venue). Do you think a 1 PM ceremony would push us too late for lunch? If so, what ceremony start time would you suggest- 12 or 12:30? Thanks for your help!

If you go by the restaurants, they stop serving lunch at 3. But most people don’t often eat a full meal in mid-afternoon since it isn’t a regular meal time. That’s not to say you can’t serve it if you want. Just make sure that guests are fully aware you will be feeding them, otherwise they may eat beforehand and not have room for anything on your menu.
Either time-frame is fine. Which do you prefer and which works out best for your venue?

are you thinking of taking picture before the ceremony? we are having our ceremony on sunday at 11:30. It’s going to be pretty short too but thinking we’ll take pictures afterwards and it might be close to 1pm till we start lunch.

FI’s cousin had a 1PM wedding and had lunch in the church hall right after. I don’t think anyone minded. Usually we’re eating lunch later on the weekends because we sleep in.

Thanks for your ideas! I think we’ll leave the ceremony at 1 PM and just make it clear on the invites that it will be a luncheon reception.
