Fpr those of you who use maca root supplements, where do you buy it? I live in an apartment and due to that, hate ordering off Amazin. So I was wondering, do any of you buy it from a store? And if so, where? As a last resort.. if you have had super awesome results with the maca root you order online, would you mind letting me know where you got it from? I’m officially off BCP and got my first period today and HOLY.SMOKES. I forgot how bad my cramps are and why I went on BP in the first place. Trying to make my life less miserable when AF is around. Ugh. Thanks for your help!! 🙂

We got some Maca Root Powder from Whole Foods. But I’ll be honest with you, it makes me very gassy and bloated. (TMI, but wanted to warn you of possible side effects). So I don’t take it as often as I should.

Yeah, like CocoLoco523 said, Whole Foods is a good place to get it. Other health foods stores may have it as well, along with specialty health and supplement stores, like Pharmaca. You can always call ahead of time and ask what they have.

@future_mrs_s: Walgreens– though not all carry them. The only stuff that they carried at my location was all organic capsules… cost me $20 which is way more expensive than the stuff that you can purchase online.
Bottle suggested 3 a day…and I’m SOOO glad I didn’t take that. I started with 1 and noticed a large energy increase. Once I upped it to 2 capsules, I had insomnia and couldnt sleep until around 3am. So much energy…it was strange.
However, I only used it during my first phase to regulate estrogen and I haven’t used it again because of side affects. At first, it seemed great. But a week later after using it I had digestive discomfort that I NEVER get. Bloated and I thought I was sick– but after reading so many other people’s comments, I think it was the shift in my hormones.
My period also came 4 days late which I wasn’t thrilled about, and it didn’t make my PMS better… but worse and my period felt terrible too. That could be due to the fact that I only took it though 1/2 my cycle and the introduction of estrogen into my system again made me feel nuts and was painful. I also didn’t feel as ‘lean’ as I normally do. I’m petite, so I noticed that. I didn’t know if it was the bloating itself, or if maca really does contribute to butt/breast growth (that’s why SOME people use it).
Lots of people claim to have 0 side effects, unfortunately I was not one of them 🙁 I think it’s something you can only experiment with your own body on.
