So a little background. Controversial as it may be, my FI and I aren’t huge cake fans. I’ll eat it if someone puts a plate in front of me, but it isn’t something I go out of my way to get a hold of. Now macarons, on the other hand. I lived in Paris for awhile, and may have put on several pounds directly attributed to Laduree. So, one of the first things we decided when planning the wedding is that we’d have macarons. Our respective mothers put their feet down and said we still had to have cake, but that we could do macarson as well.
Here’s my question. We’re going to be serving about 300 macarons, in five different flavors. How would you display them? We aren’t planning on using them as favors, as we’ve got something else in mind there. We have one 10 foot long table minus a large floral arrangement to work with. I was initially thinking apothecary jars, but am worried about making people reach down inside of them to get a macaron. Our cake is going to be on a blue glass cake stand, but I’m not sure if we want to do that for the macarons too.
