I'm doing the same thing! I spent quite awhile googling dance songs; there is quite alot of info online! Just search for things like, "dance music".
I was thinking the seniors would be comfortable dancing to songs like: Tutti Fruitti - Little Richard and The Twist - Chubby Checker
And songs like: Land of 1000 Dances - Wilson Pickett, Play that Funky Music - Wild Cherry, Brick House - The Commodores, should get people on their feet.
As for current radio hits, I can't help you there. It's sad, I'm 21 and the last mainstream music I was aware of was Back Street Boys haha! But I'm sure the rest of the bee's will help ya out :D

okay i don't really have any suggestions off hands, but sometimes dj sites will have like, a 'most requested' list?
here's the dj i'm considering - he's got a top 200 list for dance, and then other topics (cake cutting, etc).
hopefully that'll help some!

hello beautiful brides! i was hoping to get some of your genius input on an area where i'm at a loss. no offense, but i completely hate dj's. well, to be fair, i don't hate ALL dj's--only the completely cheesy, irridescent bow-tie wearing, shouting dj's. unfortunately these scary dj's are the only ones that fit in our budget. so, we've opted to hook one of our macbooks up to some speakers and keep it chill. we're having a rather relaxed outdoor event anyway. all of that being said, i'm having trouble creating a playlist. i want things that everyone will dance to, 6 to 76. i know that i want to include a few current radio hits (lady gaga? yes please), but i also want some things the older guests would feel comfortable dancing too. any suggestions? i need your help!! thanks hive.
