Yes, I've had those problems- the wedding channel site is a really big pain. The end result? Scrapping the Macy's registry.
Dont worry, I've had similar problems. I needed help finding something that I scanned but wanted a different size in (place settings) and I couldnt find it online. What you should do is when you set up your registry for online access, someone should email you from a local store and offer to help answer questions. I emailed my rep and she was just great about helping out. You should really talk to someone in the store or by email about it. You probably wont find it online.
I would definitely stick with Macys. They offer the best customer service. They might be a little pricey, but its worth it. I've also registered other places and was made to feel like it was a hassle to be registering. Dont give up on Macys!
I had some issues with the Macy's online registry too. I stuck with it though, and I got a fair number of gift cards at my shower, which is great because once the discount kicks in, I can get the items for less. I kept Macy's because it's easy for people. I would just leave it.
To be honest, I can't stand them, but almost everyone we know wants to shop there and a lot of my bridal shower gifts came from there, so what's a girl to do? But they are a royal pain in the butt, because of the exact same issues named here already. If I didn't have a better alternative I would have scrapped them already, too!

I recently registered at Macy's in-store (Herald's sq in NYC) and spent ages picking out just the right china... we were running out of time so we just scanned a couple of the items and figured we would change it online. But the wedding channel site says that this particular china isn't available for online registry. But when you look on Macys.com (versus weddingchannel.com) it says all the china items ARE available. There seems to be really limited availability of items on the online site.
Also, the prices are wildly different from the store to the onlnie site (ie some stemware that was $40 in store is $24 online). Wedding Channel also sometimes shows my other registries (Crate and Barrel) but sometimes when i log on it doesn't show up.
Has anyone else had problems with Macys and Wedding Channel?? I'm contemplating scrapping the whole thing because the wedding channel site has been such a pain.
