I made MadLibs (huge hit!) but just had regular pens set out with them at the place settings.  Almost all of the pens were left behind.  Don’t know if that would have been the case with custom ones, but I don’t think they are necessary, especially if you’re looking for a way to cut costs.

I had the mad libs as well, and about 20% of the people (if that) actually did them. I don’t regret doing them per se, because some were awesome and funny and because what was I going to do with a guestbook? But I do feel like I wasted some money, and that bums me out.

We bought mini golf pencils (white pew pencils actually) and punched two small holes at the top of the mad lib to slide the pencil through to put on each place setting. I figured that was easier and less expensive. I think the pens are overkill if you have cookie favors.

We’re thinking of doing custom pens as wedding favors, but if you’re also doing the cookie favors, I don’t think it’s that necessary.

I just had to pop in and say I was scrolling down looking at the thread titles and I read yours too quickly. I thought it said ‘Mad Libs with Custom Penis’. I was like, ‘WOW–those are some very special favors’.

We are putting madlibs on the back of the ceremony program, so guests can have some fun while waiting for the ceremony to start. We’re just going with normal pens. I guess it depends on how much the custom pens cost, but I am not sure that is really necessary.

The madlibs are a super cute idea, but the pens are overkill.  I wouldn’t want to take a pen with someone else’s wedding date on it.

Honestly, I feel lke this is the type of thing that looks really cute on Pinterest but is probably a waste of time and moey in reality. I like the ad Lib idea but I would forgo the custom pens unless you can get them very very very cheaply.
