I am SO excited, I just bought my first GPS watch today – a Garmin Forerunner 220 – to take on runs with me. I have been running for a little over a year, and am training for my first marathon (6 weeks to go!) and I just finally decided it was something I wanted and didn’t let myself feel guilty about it! 🙂
Any other bees have a GPS watch? Do you love it? Share share!

@emmalyn: Suuuuper jealous! I started seriously running about 4 years ago and I’ve admired Garmins the entire time – I run with my phone (and therefore, the premium runkeeper app) and so I’ve never been able to justify the purchase.
That one is super cute and small though! Some of them are so big and bulky.
Where’d you get it if you don’t mind me asking?
I’m looking into a HRM+GPS for more precise calorie counts.

@KimmySumShuga: I ran with the Runtastic app (paid version) which I do love. But the GPS signal is all over the place, I think mostly because I am in an urban area. So it was adding mileage and getting frustrating.
This is a new design and it seems to have all the features I wanted, but nothing I didn’t really need. It has the optional HRM (I didn’t get that yet, but I will eventually) which their “base” models don’t have. And also connects to a footpod thingy for running on the treadmill (which I don’t do so I won’t get that). And it’s a lot thinner than some of their older designs.
I got it from http://www.clevertraining.com … I searched high and low for the best price, but it’s a new item so it was mostly the same everywhere. This site had it in stock (my go-to stores didn’t) and I had a 10% off code: DCR10TXS, plus free shipping and no sales tax. So that was the best I could do!
@sweetchiquita12: It was either this or black/red (yuck!) haha but I think this purple is pretty sweet!! They have another model that is grey and pink 🙂
