So I started off my week by finding out that the clerk at the base where my FI will be deploying out of (it is the other side of the country from where we live) just decided to book his flight home this coming weekend since it was easier for her to find him a flight on that day. Even though... he is cleared by his captin to fly out as soon as his admin work was complete, which would have been Wednesday this week. When he spoke with her, her comment was "oh, its only a couple of days, who cares?".
Only a couple of days extra to spend with your loved ones before deploying to a warzone?
To boot, the half of my family that doesn't live in our city is coming to town and throwing a BBQ to meet my FI for the first time on Saturday, which he will NOW MISS!
He is 'pulling' rank and seeing if he can change the flight on his own (its a non refundable flight though).
Needless to say, I am spitting nails and not a happy camper.
So I'm trying to think of something good to balance out the bad (besides the "I'm healthy, I have a job and a roof over my head stuff.. cause that ain't cutting it right now)

Sorry to hear that! Some people will never understand how just one extra day can mean so much to someone. I hope they get it all worked out.
What ruined my day is that I had a mammogram come back abnormal so now I have to get an ultra sound done. Breast cancer runs in my family, so I'm trying not to freak out. Trying to stay busy as much as possible, I guess that's why I've resurfaced from lurkdom and decided to comment on your post. :-)

Today I have had quite a few things make my day!
I get to work from home tomorrow!
My mom snuck by my office and paid for my lunch!
I've started eating only clean foods and it has honestly made such a difference in my overall mood/feeling.
I drove to work at 415am so I didn't hit traffic and I get to leave in less than 3 hours :)
I get to play on WB to pass the time. I refuse to put anything negative in this post!
I woke up with a headache and the advil doesn't seem to be doing a whole hell of a lot for it. Just feeling a bit off today...
It's close to noon, which means lunch and then only a few more hours of work! and then I see my FI and we can chill.
I think I'm going to have a phone date with a really good friend (one of my BM's, who I haven't chatted with in too long!)
I got my wisdom teeth out last thursday, so on the upside I'm feeling a hell of a lot better today than I did last week. But on the downside, it's still achy and hard to chew certain food. BOO
I have finished 47 invitations, only 18 more to go! But on the downside, ugh I have to make 18 invitations and the pocketfolds are so tedious!
All in all, life is good, it's a beautiful day and the sun is shining, I'm gonna count my blessings!

@tomboypink While I can't say everything will be ok, I have been in the same situation. It runs in my family as well and I've had to have ultrasounds for abnormalities. I can only offer support and send you cyber hugs. It's scary, but you will get through it.
I woke up this morning and forgot that I had zero gas in my car and my tire was almost flat. Not a good start to the week, but it could be worse. My Advil isn't working, either.
Made: Three of my best girl friends will be here for a 4 day visit on THURSDAY! SO excited.
Ruined: Not really ruined but I swear my FH's ex wife is just the biggest pain in the ass ever and I greatly look forward to the day she finally gets a boyfriend or (I can only pray) gets remarried so she has somebody to share her problems with that is NOT her ex husband.
Ruined: I woke up this morning aching all over and with a sore throat (I was the same all last week but it came back even worse this morning), hauled myself out of bed, went to work...and found out no one else in my department is here, so I should have just stayed home sick.
Made: Last night I finally got DH to draft out the thank you notes for his side of the family (I still had to write them out nicely on the cards, but at least he did the legwork for me since I haven't met most of them) and I get to pop them in the mail today on my way home and be rid of them.
I'm so sorry they're putting you through that. Only jerks don't know what another day with your SO means:(
What ruined my day was that I found out that out health insurance dropped me and my DH and I are ttc. There is no way we can afford to pay $20,000 + out of pocket.
and a double ugg.. r you f'ing kidding me? That sucks so much! :((
Wow, that is so horrible of her! I can't understand how someone who works with the troops doesn't understand their huge sacrifices. I work for the troops indirectly and I understand immensely!
Ruined: (weekend, not day) Mom bitched me out for basically being excited for my bridal shower. I asked to see her invitation (I didn't get one, wtf? It's not a surprise party, either). When she found out that BM S sent a pic of it to me (because I REALLY wanted to see it!) she threw it at me saying "have fun, I'm not going" and then went on to call me a huge manipulator and I have to control everything. She was going to throw me a surprise shower, but blah blah blah (going on and on about how I have NO idea how I come off to people). Then my dad called/texted and emailed about Saavi formalwear not having our wedding listed (he lives OOT), and we talked on the phone in a VERY cold manner, making me believe that he is STILL bitter about our drama from a month ago.
Made: I GOT MY WEDDING DRESS TODAY! =) Oh, and it fit. haha
Ruined: Woke up to a smokey hazy sky that is triggering my asthma due to the huge forest fires that are blazing a few hours away. Our whole town smells like a campfire and the fire warnings have been elevated here now too. I can only imagine the grief and horror that some of the families in Alberta are dealing with. The whole town of Slave Lake is nearly burnt to the ground, including their city hall, the shopping center, the radio station and countless homes and businesses. Propane tanks, gas stations, and cars could be heard blowing up all night.
Made: On a brighter note my DH got a raise and is now working as a lead fire hand for his company. If the fires get worse he may head out to fight them, which is scary, but I'm proud of him.
This chick needs to be fired.
She had a month's notice to get everyones advances for this last stint of training they were doing out of country. Well the troup leader (my FI) and his captain were missed! So they have been paying out of pocket for over two weeks for everything, meals, gas, everything. And she flubbed getting the claim done to pay for the van rental they needed to cart everyone around so she is like "oh just stick it on yoru CC and I will reimburse you when you get back". Um, it's a $1400 rental you tool!
Grrr!
honestly, I didn't know they were so bad! :( I thought Alberta still had snow on the ground so I was shocked to hear this.
RE: Dress... and it looks grrrrrrreat!!
Ruined: on day 4 of excruciating lower back pain and the cold, rainy weather isn't helping it.
Made: Get to enjoy some of the awesome gifts I got at my shower yesterday :)
Ruined: My students are all being twits. I've given out 2 detentions already and need to email parents about their child's rotten behavior. Also, I'm having a really hard time filling out a job app for a job I really want. 
Made: I drove to work today for the first time in weeks! (got my leg cast off this past Thursday). Also, hubby and I are TTC next month! And may have oopsy-ed this weekend, but decided we were both okay if it did happen Saturday (doubt it did, bust STILL!!!).
Life is good...just a little difficult.
A co-worker gave me a quote on Friday that said "It's how we survive the hurts in life that brings us strength and gives us our identity" (Saving CeeCee Honeycutt)

My SO and I are in a LDR and he just started a new job that will keep him extremely busy the next few months, so I only expect to hear from him maybe a couple of times a week. Anyway, I didn't hear from him last night and I was kind of bummed hoping he had thought about me before going to bed. But I woke up this morning to a text from him that he sent sometime after midnite asking if I was awake, unfortunately I was knocked out by that time. LOL! Then he sent another one this morning before he went to work telling me how much he loved me which made my day...and I told him that too! 
@Oneeleven: It's worse than any of us expected. Here are two photos an employee of ours who lives in the area sent us (this is a residential neighborhood). We're dumb-founded.
@west.coast.blonde: so crazy hey? I''m in whitecourt, which is a few hours south of Slave, and we've got crazy fires going on all around town too! I could hear the water bombers going all night long.
@Bostonsmom: It's really terrible. Our air quality is getting worse and we've had areas around us put on high alert because it has been so dry the past few days. I really hope they can get the fires under control, but I just seen a report that there is well over 20,000 hectars of land with "uncontrollable" fires blazing. It's so sad to see all those trees and communities up in flames :(
Made my day : Its my BIRTHDAY today :) ..so i got tons of birthday love and my SO took me out to my fav restaurant and made me a large gift basket of stuff (book by fav author, choco, deozen roses..ect)
Ruined : not really ruined - but I had an orthodontist appt to re-glue my perm retainer and it took the hygienist 2 times >:(
Made my day-
My kids were surprising well behaved at the grocery store today and I picked up ice cream and ice cream cones for the family dessert tonight :)
Ruined (or damn near)- Some guy yelled at me and flipped me off while driving earlier. He claims I made a turn in front of him which is so not true. He was a young kid probably just trying to show off ;)
BIL's gf ruined my day. She's a hoity toity bitch and no one is ever good enough for her. She's now smack talking us ON FACEBOOK (to people we don't know even!) over the things we registered for. BECAUSE NOTHING IS PRICED OVER $100. WTF
Made: I had my first dress fitting and I'm so excited to get it back in June!!!
Ruined: Well, it's not going to ruin my day... but I came home from my fitting expecting to hang out with my FI. They all went golfing and we were supposed to meet up after the 9th hole. He calls and says that they are going to play more rounds, so he'll see me in a few hours. Umm, ok, if he told me beforehand I could've met them at the 9th hole... but instead he called as they were beginning more rounds, and now I have to sit at home for another 2 hours. Not cool. He knew I wanted to hang out! I had already been home for an hour when he called.
(Btw, it's not just him and they guys. We always go golfing together, and his friend's girlfriend is there too, so we were all going to have fun together. So much for that).
@Oneeleven: I'm so sorry to hear that. :( I pray that everything gets straightened out.
What ruined my day? ...My professor gave me a 89.4 for my semester grade! Who does that? It's so insulting. I worked very hard for an A. Bleh!
Made: It's not pouring rain outside

Ruined: am REALLY sick of posting stuff on WB only to have some other poster say the exact same friggen thing below me and then either OP or anther poster agrees with her like her comment is the best thing since sliced bread.
MADE: My manager made "Better Than Sex" cake that I get to have slices of and my free lunch is in the break room
RUINED: I keep finding pieces of my wisdom tooth in my mouth and I cant see a dental surgeon
Your made probably isn't helping your ruined! Ouchhhh!
And do you have a receipe for this better than sex cake you speak of? :p

made: I get to spend this whole week in my hometown, where my SO lives. normally I only get to spend a weekend here and have to drive back to my university (5 hours away) but this week I am totally being lazy at home! the boy and I are seeing bridesmaids tonight and I'm about to get froyo with one of my best friends from home!
ruined: mom and I fought last night about nothing in particular-- we were both tired and picky. I don't see her very often so it left a sour feeling.
@MrsStrz: I agree with @Oneeleven! I had an 89.4 once and talked it up to an A! I turned in a doctor's note for one absence and did a little extra credit, totally worth it!
@Oneeleven: Unfortunately, no. She prefaced the release of our grades with something like “don’t ask me to change your grade. I do not accept extra credit and I will not change your final grade.” Fine. Whatev. She’s still a crazy cat-lady at the end of the day. (No offense to any cat owners…I’m sure you’re not crazy or the quintessential “cat lady”) =)

Made: I have a doctor's appointment with a specialist that I have been waiting 8 months for
Ruined: his deployment date is now 2 weeks sooner than we thought, add that to the week we lost here and my six week visit is now 3 weeks and I can't get a week off work
