@HnyBee: Yaaay someone who is having their wedding at The Legend!! I was just there this evening, I’ve narrowed it down to The Legend or Olympia. I LOVE the decor at The Legend and Deb seems so helpful and flexible. I’m a little worried about the size though. We’re looking at around 220 people and going there right from Olympia it looks small. I’ve taken five different people there and they all love The Legend!! I absolutely love the outdoor space being connected but of course that’s only a benefit if the weather is nice.

I’m torn because with Olympia there is the convenience of the hotel and the nightclub to stretch out the party a little longer 🙂 Yet I hate the ballroom look, it’s just not me.  Uggh.

I’d love to hear more about your thoughts on The Legend and where else you considered having it.

@vicozzie  Hello there!  Sorry it took me a while to get back to you!  When we were looking for a reception venue we looked at the Golden Mast on Okauchee Lake and The Legend at Bristlecone and Brandybrook.  We wanted to get married outside, so that was ahuge factor when looking for a venue.  We loved the Golden Mast because it is right on the lake, but the inside is a bit outdated.  Brandybrook was beautiful and the drive up was so dramatic, but they do not have an outdoor ceremony space.  Bristlecone fit the bill, it was updated plus they have that beautiful deck where we can have our ceremony.  We loved the indoo/outdoor feel for the cocktail hour and after dinner.  So far Deb has been a pleasure to work with and has really been flexible when it comes to completing our vision.

What did you end up deciding?

@HnyBee: Well I think we have decided on Bristlecone. One of the deciding factors was Deb’s flexibility. I too felt Golden Mast was outdated inside. I fell in love with the pictures they advertise of the courtyard, etc.. so I had really high hopes but then we went inside. I also didn’t like that they had the 250 minimum.

I agree Bristlecone is great because of the indoor/outdoor feel. I hope you have wonderful weather on your day to enjoy that space! I’ve been a bit concerned with the size of the room but with that outdoor space I think it will be great.

Hope your wedding turns out to be everything you had hoped for! Thanks for sharing your experience in the venue shopping. I’m pretty sure I’ll be signing my contract this weekend.

@vicozzie  That’s fantastic, I think you are going to be super happy with your decision.  I loved the photos on the Golden Mast’s website also, but when I asked where the arch photos were taken, they told me that the bridal party stopped at a park before coming to the Golden Mast, huge let down.  🙁  Oh well, I’ll keep you informed of fun things we decide to do with the space and any pointers I can pass along the way.  We’re not going to meet with Deb again until early July, but she has been so flexible and sweet!

If you have any great ideas please let me know as well!

Just wanted to spread some more praises about Deb.  We had to change our wedding date and Deb let us switch to the following Friday without a new deposit!  🙂  She’s super!

@HnyBee: That’s great to hear!! I hope everything goes well for you and I hope you didn’t have any problems switching your other vendors! I would LOVE to see pics or at least let me know how the space turns out for you. I too am having around 200 and am a bit nervous about everyone fitting in the space okay and the dance floor being a bit small.
