I have spent about $35 on my BM as thank you gifts which includes- shoes, jewlery, and a personalized lunch tote. I was thinking about throwing in a subscription to a magazine as well. Is that a weird idea or would you enjoy getting a year of a magazine? I would get them something they like- Cosmo for one, Marie Claire for another, etc.

I would enjoy it, but at the same time I already get some magazines! So I wouldn’t want two of them coming to me each month. I would make sure it’s something you know they would enjoy but also that they don’t already receive. I’ve given gift subscriptions to friends of mine before just for fun for their b-days etc…often as a subscriber myself I get offers for a free 1 year gift subscription for a friend. They’ve always enjoyed getting the magazines.

Swebs14: This is an awesome idea, I may have to steal it. My BMs all buy magazines constantly (a couple have a subscription or 2, but they still buy a ton monthly.) We do swap them around to share, so buying a different one for each of them would be a lovely addition to their gift.

It would end up in my recycling every month. I find so manythings eat up my free time, adding something else to it would not feel like a gift. I don’t buy or read magazines normally, so if your girls do, maybe it would be different.

sostobe: I actually found a website where you can earn free magazines. I googled cheap magazine subscriptons and a blog was the first thing to pop up which had a link to this website.
If you’re interested it is recyclebank.com basically you can answer trivia questions or watch videos and you earn points, the points can be used to buy magazines. It does take a little bit of time, but in 15 minutes I had enough points for 2 different magazines.

I would enjoy it provided it isn’t something I already subscribe to, and if it’s something I love to read (I actually love GQ more than most “women’s” mags). If you got me Cosmo or something I probably wouldn’t read it. If you know for sure what your BMs tastes are then I say go for it!

Swebs14: If you happen to gift them a subscription to a magazine to which they already subscribe, they can go online and have their sunscription extended for another year, so that’s not really a problem.

I would love it. It’s something that I wouldn’t always buy for myself. My best friend got something like that for me for a present one time. It’s a great idea.

I love magazines, however, I already can’t keep up with my subscriptions so I wouldn’t want another one.

Yes. I would love to get InStyle or Real Simple or Traditional Home or Coastal Living as a gift. Tailor it to your friend’s interests.

I think it depends on what magazines.. It would be a neat idea to pick a magazine tailored to your friends individual interests.
I don’t personally subscribe to many magazines and forget to buy them but, I do love reading them. I’d enjoy this gift.

KC-2722: I would totally get something unique for each of them.

I end up buying magazines all the time, but I know a lot of my friends don’t. Go for it if you think your bridesmaids will enjoy them and get use out of them, but if you think they would be overwhelmed or you’re not sure what they would enjoy, I’d stay away.

Swebs14: Then I would go for it. Again, I’d be pleased with this gift.. Not only because I enjoy reading magazines but because it was well thought out and individualized.

I would like it if it was something for me. I’m less of a Cosmo girl and more of a Time or Entertainment Weekly girl.
