Have you ordered the dress in the ivory/mocha colour or all over ivory?  if its just ivory then i think your current scheme and bouquet will be fine.  If it is the mocha colour you could try using some creams in your boquet to soften the colour a little or go for a soft/dusky pink instead of purple.  The guys could then wear grey suits with dusky pink waistcoats and cravats and cream or mocha flowers for the guys suits.  I am also in love with geneva although haven’t been able to try her on due to having no stockists locally.  think i may have to order her in specially.

Jaynee I just bought this dress too! I’m so excited–but now need to get to all the other details.  In the bridal store I almost decided to go with all ivory because I was having the same concerns you are.  I also want to have my girls/flowers in plum.  However, I decided I really loved the contrast of the mocha and how it stood out against the ivory dress and decided that if i needed to rethink color scheme i would.

I am still planning on keeping the plum…I’m not ready to abandon the ideas I had for my color scheme just yet.  Although I like cookies idea of using dusty pink with this dress!  I think that would be a great color combo. I like the idea of adding in ivory flowers to your bouquet too to lighten it up. I’m thinking I will keep my bouquet simple because of all the flowers in the dress.  Keep me posted on what your up to! I’d love to know what other brides are planning that’s working for them.

@Jaynee: I’m actually running into the same concerns as well.  I bought this dress in the ivory/mocha (and LOVE it!) but am not sure what color the guys suits should be.  My BMs are going to be in chocolate brown dresses from Ann Taylor and was thinking of the guys being in a light light brown or khaki-ish color but am worried the colors may not compliment eachother.

As for flowers, since I’m going for a “vintage theme” I was thinking of doing ivory and dusty pink.  I’m not sure if my bouquet will be all ivory and the pink will be added to just the BM’s bouquets or have a combination of both in mine… ugh, decisions decisions! ๐Ÿ™‚

Jaynee- I just bought this dress on Tuesday and I am in love! I was going with an eggplant and gray color scheme but now I think I need to change it to eggplant and ivory and browns or khaki.  I have been doing some research and have found some links on suits that i like.

I just browse around looking at the khaki and tan suits.  I love the ones with texture.

As for flowers I am in the process of making homemade fabric flowers with this as inspiration below:

My girls tried on bridesmaids dresses and fell in love with these.  I have not decided yet as I am iffy on if I like the idea of them wearing ivory as well as me.  But they really are pretty and go with the entire, rustic ventage look we are going for.  Let me know your thoughts as well.  Best of luck!

I’m planning on doing true purple bridesmaid dresses, or dark purple/eggplant (depends on the designer, I suppose). I was going to dark gray suits, actually, but now I’m considering doing black suits just to make it clash less between gray and mocha. Honestly though, I don’t think the mocha is that dark, so I think it would go with almost everything.

I ordered this dress in all ivory.  My colors are bright orchid green and purple and I wanted them to pop against my dress, I thought mocha might clash a little.  My bridesmaids will wear purple dresses.

I’ve just recently run across this dress and the mocha accents and floral appliques make it look like something I’ve never seen before. I ran across Maggie’s Isadora dress first which has the same contrast and appliques, but it is more of a glamorus ballgown that I am afraid won’t fit my vintage theme/barn venue. I was planning on doing the natural greys, ivorys, browns of the barn and using tangerine and aqua as my pops of color. Is the mocha that brown that having my boys in grey would clash? Also, do you think I’d have to drop the tangerine all together? I love orange, and it’ll be a softer more vintage-y orange, but still…..I get to try on the Isadora (even if it sadly is too extravagant) on Thursday. Hopefully it’ll be the ivory/mocha and I can maybe bring in some colored fabric to see the contrast….

Oh – by the way – my real legal name is “Jeneva”, named after my grandmother “Geneva”. How cool would that be if it ends up being THE dress? ๐Ÿ™‚
