has anyone seen this? Maggie Sotter has a "real brides" page and you basically go thorugh a gallery of REAL women wearing their dresses. I didn’t know this existed! I’d much rather look through a real gallery than models in the dresses

Yup – I knew about this – I love browsing through them, and lately it seems like they have new ones all the time! I don’t have my dress yet but when I go shopping I plan on at least trying some Maggies!

New ones to sucker in all the new brides, right? LOL! I looked up the dress I got and was like "wow look at all these women!" and it really photographs well1

I thought the "Real Brides" was great… definitely more helpful than looking at the pictures of the models.

Yes, I’ve seen this too… and I love it b/c you get different perspectives and colors w/ the real bride pics.
Sottero&Midgley’s site does this too… and DB… I think those are the only ones I’ve seen so far. I wish all sites did this.

I think it’s a great idea. REAL women are simply built different than a fashion model is. We have real hips ya know? REAL curves.
I can’t wait in a while to try one on. I’m one of the real women with real curves. I’m a bit larger on top and it throws the whole sizing of the dress askew. Some here have told me that their corset dresses can solve that"issue". If not I’d be buying a larger dress and having it taken down just so the bustline fits.

I didn’t know this, thanks for sharing! So fun to look through. My first choice dress is a Maggie, I’ll have to sift through there and find a real bride in my dream dress!

Being a very busty lady myself, I found my dilemna was either a) buy an 18 or so and have the crap chopped out of it so it fit my waist and hips or b) buy a corset gown in a "normal" size. I wear an 8 regularly….and my dress is a 10,. I wasn’t happy about buying a huge dress then having so much of it removed. It really alters the fit.

Jamielee – if you find your dress in the collection listings there should be links under it to the real brides that have worn it, if there are any. That would make it easier than having to sift through!

Anjolique does this too, via the Benjamin Roberts website. The thing is, since it’s not as poplular as Maggie Sottero, there are only like 8 brides, and 6 of them are wearing the 930 lol.

I really liked the pics of gowns with sleeves added. I have such a hard time visualizing added sleeves and this was definitely helpful!

It can still be worth going through the Real Brides pages – Maggie’s site doesn’t link to all of the brides wearing each particular gown from the gown’s page. Found that out the hard way!

My dress has a ‘real bride’ to it, which is nice because like you Ejs, I would rather see a real person since I do NOT have the body like the model in my dress (as she is probably about 10 inches taller than me!)
