I love this dress, too!  I have called all over, but can’t find a store that carries it.  I tried on the Maggie Sottero Lorie and the Maggie Sottero Tracey.  From what I was told, the Alana is a combination of both of these dresses.  The cut of the dress isn’t as severe as the Tracey, but it is more defined than the Lorie.  The train is longer than the Lorie but shorter than the Tracey.  I loveeeee the Alana, but it is also $1948.  I wanted to stay below $1300.

@SimpleGifts:  I LOVED this dress, but it was just too much out of my price range. It felt so great on! I’m not usually a fan of the dropped waist but the Alana really gives you a great shape.

I absolutely LOVED the Alana, but at $2,000 it was WAY out of my price range!  It’s very fitted, until right below the hip where it flares out.  If you have an hourglass figure, it can definitely be mermaid/trumpet with the dramatic flair.  It also comes with the really pretty belt.

If you like the style, though, I’d highly recommend the Maggie Sottero Karena Royale.  It’s fit and flare, with gorgeous lace and a really pretty belt.  I’ve attached a photo of it.  Typical retail price is around $1,000.

@SimpleGifts:  Excellent choice!  It was almost the one I chose!  At the last minute, I decided to go with something a little fuller in the skirt with more of a train.  But I LOVED it! πŸ™‚

Does anyone know if this is available in a zipper closure? I read on another thread that the manufacturer will make the change for some Maggie dresses, and it’s not clear to me whether there is an extra charge. Love love love this dress, but I’m just not sure I’m a corset dress type of girl.

Ah so funny that a few of us have the same wedding date and love the same dress!

After much soul searching (lol) I splurged and ordered the Alana. I love it and nothing else I tried on came close. I had a hard time finding dresses without beading or crystals. I am in Canada and did find this dress in Montana for 1800, which is a bit better than 2000. I ended up ordering it at home anyway but they did tell me that sotterro-midgley was coming out with a new price list….everything is going up in price

I haven’t seen either of these dresses in person, but based on pictures, the Wtoo Natalia could be a similar, less expensive option. I think it retails for under $1000.
