My vote is for the Ascher. It’s more fitted, I myself am a petite bride and I’ve read the more fitted the dress the more it elongates you.

I am an Amelia bride myself, and I am IN LOVE with my dress. However, you say that you have always imagined yourself in a fit and flare. My advice would be to think about what you really want. Don’t worry about what your family and friends like better on you. Picture yourself walking down the aisle. What dress do you see?

I have no idea how big that picture will be (sorry if it is huge), but that is me in the sample Amelia (with a different belt).

@sc5en:  here is me in ascher sample which was a couple of sizes too big. (I’m 5’8 and 118lbs if that helps) . I loved it but ultimately went with a different dress.

The lace seems to be so similar that I can’t imagine them photographing much different…although I don’t know for sure. The only major difference I see between the two dresses is that the Ascher is more fitted whereas the amelia seems to be more A-line.

Ascher! Definitely. I think there may be a difference in taste between the two age groups…? You look great in it!

My best friend is 4’11” and the Ascher was almost her dress! She ended up going with a custom made dress but the Ascher was stunning on her petite frame!  If you have always imagined yourself in a fit and flare then Isay go for it!

@MissC88:  do you know by chance if that Ascher sample dress was ivory over rose pearl or all ivory?

@amf9201:  it was ivory over pearl rose, really beautiful colour and gorgeous sash.

My vote is for Ascher!

Full disclosure: I just bought the Ascher dress a couple of weeks ago for my wedding 🙂

For your reference, I am 5’0″ and 105 lbs, so I imagine the dress would look similarly on you. Here are my pictures:

ETA: This is the ivory over pearl rose.

This dress is lovely! I really want to try it on but I’m terrified it won’t suit me. My figure is not what it used to be after having a baby 6 months ago, I’m a uk 12, but maybe a 14 on the hips now. I do hope to lose weight but being a busy mum, back to work full time soon I’m not sure I will have much time for exercise. Do any of you ladies out there have any pics of you in this dress on your wedding day – particularly ladies with bigger hips! Thanks 🙂
