Hi everyone… I’m from the UK but this forum has been really helpful in answering some of my wedding dress fears so far so I thought I’d join and start a post!
I’ve ordered a Maggie Sottero Bernadette for my December wedding (ivory over light gold) and I’ve not tried it on yet as it’s arriving in July!
My fears are, that I tried on a size smaller so it didnt fit too good, but I fell in love with the dress anyway so ordered my size in it.
It looks incredible but, I have red quite a few issues regarding ‘pointy boobs’ due to the boning in this dress…
I’m very busty (34E) and I’m worried that I’m going to look ‘pointy’ – can this issue be sorted out quite easily?
Also, is the neckline low cut? As I’m top-heavy, a low cut neckline with a little cleavage is very flattering on me, but as I didn’t try on my actual size (due to their not being a single one in my size in the UK) I didn’t have the full effect of the bustline… has anyone had experience with having the neckline altered to cut a little deeper?
I would be sooo grateful for anyone who can help me!
As soon as I get the dress I will post pics on here for you all to see… it’s just such a stunning design 🙂

@klackajis: Hello! Congratulations on finding your dress! Bernadette is beautiful…but I am bias, seeing as it was my dress. My seamstress was very easily able to take out the boning that went down the middle of the chest. This resolved the “pointy” issue.
I didn’t have my neckline altered, but on this board http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/any-real-pictures-of-bernadette-by-maggie-sottero bettylee mentions she would also like to open it up a little. I don’t know whether or not she ended up doing this or if she ever got a response to her question, but you might be able to message her and ask if you aren’t able to get an answer on this board 🙂
Can’t wait to see pictures!

@klackajis I’m having the boning taken out of the bust area on my Bernadette. I’m going to see it this weekend with the alterations so I can post a pic.
If you haven’t already, you should check out this conversation on the dress.
There are tons of photos, and many of the girls talk about the alterations they have made.

@klackajis: Hi Krissy, I have just added an image of the alterations to deepen and open up the neckline of the Bernadette to the other discussion the ladies are talking about. I hope this helps. I really love the way it looks now and I no longer feel like a floating head which is how I felt because I’m petite and there was a lot of fabric near my face.
