This is my dress pre – alterations. I have to have the hips taken in. When they pinned it at the store, everything lay flat.

Do either of you have a picture of the back of the dress? I’d like to see how the corset and train look. Thanks!

@Laurums:  thanks for posting the pics! I got the Ashleigh which is very similar. I’m also hoping to change the corset to a zipper. Did you have to order a larger size to give you more fabric? I went up one size, hoping that will be enough!

yes! I actually forgot to tell the sales lady when I bought it, so I had to call later, and she told me she would be ordering one more size to be able to get the work done.  I can’t wait.

@Laurums:  I’m a Maggie Boston bride, and I wanted to change the corset to the zipper/buttons as well. But when they went to put in my final order, they said it would be a lot of work/headaches and that the outcome might not even look right (in the front). So, I went ahead with the corset back, although I’m still a little disappointed about it. I would love to see a photo of the back of your dress when it’s finished!

@Laurums:  Excellent, thanks! I’m excited to see it! My dress just came in on Friday, and I’m trying it on over lunch today.

@indyshelley:  Update: My dress did NOT fit!!! Ok so I tried a size 6 the first time and it fit perfectly.  They ordered a size 8 to give room to change the corset for a zipper.   Well, apparently you need to go a lot more up (I have not gained any weight).  So they had to order a new one and they tell me it will arrive this week.  They were going for a 10 and I asked them to go for a 12 just to be on the safe side.

Boston came out the following season after I bought my dress.  I probably would have bought it if I had tried it on and hadn’t already bought my dress (which is also a Maggie).  I love lace in layers but hadn’t seen any dress that had it that I would have even considered.

I don’t know if I’m upset I missed out on Boston or not, because I truly love my Alana dress.  But all you brides look GORGEOUS!

@Laurums:  Oh no!! 🙁  I’m sure the new one will work out just fine. I’m surprised that Maggie didn’t have the buttons as an option on this dress to begin with. Keep us posted!
