When they measured me for my Maggie, I was the same size as my "street size." However, I made her order me one size up... I'd rather them take in the gown then have to let it out if I were to fluxuate in size.
Thanks! When did you order? Please let me know how it fit for you.
I ordered it in September... they have a tentative ship date of January. I am really nervous to see how it fits! The sample I tried on was 3 sizes too large, but it seemed to fit ok (she didn't have to use clamps on the back). I'm kinda confused about how I could fit into that sample ok, but be sized 3 sizes less....
I'll post my experience once my dress comes in!
I'm a 2/4 in street dresses, and now I know why! LOL :) My Maggie is a size 4 (although it's not arriving until March, so I haven't tried it on yet). When she measured me, the seamstress at the salon said that my hips and waist are a perfect size 4 and my chest is exactly a size 2!
Gonna have to get a couple of those chicken cutlets, I guess.... :)

@blueshoes: oooh, yes, please keep us updated! how exciting to get your dress...only a month away!

@hope: I'm SOOO there with you on the chicken cutlets! As a proud pear-shape, my bust leaves some to be desired, but my *ahem* assets make up for it. Is your dress a corset or zipper? If a corset, it might not be an issue at all...
My street size and Maggie size were both a 4. The first woman measured my bust and waist at size 4 and my hips at 6. The other shop owner disagreed and measured me again. She said i was a four. I do have some hips on me, but I trust them. I am a little concerned about fluctuation though.
@ Ms.Pascua: I'm getting the Vogue so it does have a corset back, but I don't mind getting a little extra help anyway! Maybe I'll even have some cleavage. :)
I wear a street size 2/4. My dress was Jorie, with a corset back, and I got a size 6. It was perfect, no alterations for size or anything -- but I didn't want the corset lacing to be very wide, so the shop owner said to go up a size. If I'd wanted the lacing wider, I could have gone with a 4.
ETA: my boobs weren't nearly a size 6, but with a really good strapless bra and alteration of the straight neckline to a sweetheart (which was my preference, not something I had to do) it was great.
I'm a size 2, and my Maggie dress is a size 4. Fits like a dream through the waist and hips. The bust will need to be adjusted because my boobs are practically nonexistent, but that was to be expected. And the hem will need to come up just a touch - an inch, maybe two at the most.
Hi there,
I just ordered my Maggie COCO in a size 6 on saturday. I am a street size 4/6... the saleslady had me try two similar Maggie dresses (one in a 6, one in an 8) to get a feel for what my size should be.
My Maggie is the same size as my street size and fits perfectly. It is a corset back, so that is probably part of the reason the fit is so nice.
im generally a 4/6..but my MS was an 8. the corset back allows you a +/- 5lb fluctuation. if the dress is too big you'll get a tighether corset look, if its too big it'll be wider.
@ ms. pascua: I found a MS size chart online! Click the MS link under "Size Charts by Designer"

Depending on the brand, I am either 4 or 6 street size. At Express and Limited I wear 4 but at department stores its usually 6. The size 8 Maggie sample I tried on was perfect. The bridal shop ordered my dress in a size 10 (made me very angry). The size 10 was definitely too big, had to be altered and the corset was laced as tight as it could go. Still had too much room.
My dress was ordered in late May and arrived in late June.
I wear a street dress size 4, and the lady at the shop swore up and down that I measured for a Maggie size 4 too. I didn't feel good about them ordering a 4 though, and even said I thought maybe we should do a 6. Well, a 4 was ordered, and it took my MOH and I like 10 mins just to get the thing over my butt and hips. And the corset back is super wide, which I'm not liking at all.
ORDER A SIZE UP!!!!!!!!
@Honeybun: that's exactly what I was worried about! She said I was a perfect size 2, but I ordered a 4... If my measurements are exact, I would think the 2 would be skin tight??
I'm getting more and more nervous... I keep thinking about the bigger sample I tried on and how it fit... I don't understand how the size 8 sample could fit ok, maybe a tad big, but then I'm sized for a 2?
@blueshoes: I don't know girl!! This stuff confuses the heck out of me. There was another dress that I thought I was going to end up getting and it was a sample dress, and it fit me almost perfect and was a size 10!!!!!! (wasn't a Maggie though)
I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to deal with the dress as is, or try to have it taken out so that the corset isn't so wide. I mean it's so wide that the piece of satin or whatever it is behind the lacing - barely covers my back up completely. There is almost a gap. UGH
Ugh that is my fear, I totally feel for you! I think if that happens to me, I am going to have them take it out. Which will really make me mad. Argh. I'm now dreading it coming in next month.
So this probably won't help make a decision at all, but I have been told I was in a range of 3 sizes for the MS Adelaide (with corset). Originally I tried on a 14 and liked the way it fit. The corset was just about right. The salon said depending on my actual measurments and if I wanted to be comfortable, I could order a 16. Ok, not so bad.
Then I went to another store to try on the Adelaide again, and they only had a 12. Well I actually didn't mind the way the 12 fit on my body. I am planning to loose about 5 pounds (even just stress weight loss) before the wedding which would have made the 12 be right.
I think in the corset gowns it really gives you a lot of room to play in the size. As others have said it depends on how tight you want the corset to lace in the back and how secure you want to feel if it is strapless.
I ordered the Maggie AD3396 in size 6, and I am a street size 4. Of course mine has a corset back, so it's forgiving in either direction. I could have ordered the 8, as well, but the bridal consultant suggested I be a "showstopper" and go with the 6 so it would be nice and fitted.
I had tried on a size 8 in the same dress in another store, and the consultant had to pull the crap out of the corset to make it tight enough on me.
I really think Maggie sizes are 1 to 2 (at most) up from street, where most other designers are 2-3 sizes up. I tried on a size 10 in a Ream Acra and it fit me like a gove. Crazy!
Hey girls--I'm usually a street size 6 and I ordered my Fiorella Maggie gown in a 10 and it fits perfectly! You really have to pay attention to whether it's a corset back or not. Since mine wasn't, the 10 fit perfectly. Otherwise I probably would have went with an 8 if I went with a Maggie gown with a corset back. I wouldn't go strictly by measurements though....that never works out well for me
I'm usually a size 2-6 depending on the brand, and they ordered me a size 6 gown. The size 8 I tried on was definitely too big, but the consultant said I needed the 6 (vs. the 4) due to my hips.
My mom is fearful of alteration costs, and has already made a few comments about how mad she is going to be if the dress comes in and is "wayyyy too big for me" since she thought the 8 was clearly too big.
The girl that measured me must have been a moron because I'm a street size 6 sometimes and 8 and she insisted on ordering a 10...needless to say my dress was too big when I tried it on at my first fitting.
I am a street size 10 and I tired on/ordered a Maggie Harlow size 12. It will be in on/around May 5th! I will let you know if it still fits properly; it was a little loose the first time around. I believe Maggie's generally are pretty close to stree size unlike some other designers.

Hi ladies,
I was wondering if any of you Maggie Sottero brides know her size chart or could tell me, roughly (not to embarrass anyone) what size you ordered & what your street size is? I know that a potential buyer should buy a dress using her largest measurement &, as I am trying to find my dream Maggie dress (authentic) for less than salon price, I'd like to get an idea of what the right size would be.
Thanks, I appreciate the help!
