@LibbyDawn:  i think it depends – how much is the replica and are you willing to lose that money if it doesn’t work out? have you tried this dress on at the salon (so you could see how it fits). do you have someone who can accurately measure you? to me it actually looks pretty constructed (you’ll need to make sure the bodice fits you well to get the full effect).

other things to consider – what is your budget? i was actually surprised, i watched all those tlc shows and thought dresses had to cost thousands, but really that’s not the case. Check some smaller shops. i expected them to be a rip off, but found plenty of dresses under $1000.

it sounds like you know you want a zipper in the back, but there are some pros to the lace up (one of my friends got so stressed before her wedding & lost all this weight, she could barely keep her dress up) – I on the other hand like to eat when stressed and notice in my everyday clothes that sometimes 5-10 pounds really matter for fit, so the corset back gives you a little flexibility, if this is a concern for you
