i don't have any advice yet (sorry) but i'm 6'1 so i can empathise with the clothes shopping/length confusion!!
@pumpkinclouds: I know it is awful and it really seems to vary depending on dress design. The sample dress was fine but she said sometimes the samples can be fluke sizes. She also said that the extra length is 3" so I would probably definitely need it hemmed.
I'm your height and ordered the extra length. It is a lot longer and will need to be hemmed but I didn't want to run the risk of a dress that's too short. I personally wouldn't risk it b/c if it ends up being too short, there is nothing you can do.
I think you do. I had an Sottero and Midgley dress and I wore 5 inch heels making me 5'9". I didnt have to have it hemmed at all. I think you need extra length.
I am not a Maggie Sottero bride but I am 5'11 and I ordered extra length for my wedding gown. I also ordered extra length for an MOH dress. I wore 4" heels with the MOH dress and I am wearing 2 1/2" heels with my wedding dress. I had my fitting on Friday and I will not need to have it hemmed. If you're only going to wear 1" heels I'd say don't do the extra length because mine is pretty close, it was up in the air whether I'd need it hemmed or not. After they did all the alterations to make it fit on top it is exactly the right length with my shoes now but if my shoes were 1" I would be tripping over it.
If you tried it on in the store and it was fine then I'd say you'll be all set. If you got it and it were a little shorter you could always wear flatter shoes. Keep in mind with the extra length you'll have to pay more $ for a hem so factor that in!
@philliesbride: I was a Maggie Sottero bride. I am 6'0 and did not order the extra length, wore about 1" heels, and the length was perfect. If all of the Sottero dresses have the same length templates, I'd say you'd be fine! Don't know if that's the case though.. Good luck! :)
Thanks for all the advice! I think the problem is the Maggie dresses all seem to be different- some people said it fit them perfect for 5'9 other say they were 5'11 and it was perfect even with a heel! I just wish there was some consistency!

I was a Maggie Sottero Davida Bride and I'm almost 5'10''. I did not get extra length. When I wore a 1 inch heel, my dress was 1 inch too long, when I put 2 inch heels on, it was perfect.

Thanks for all the responses! Just an update- I went to a really good bridal salon and she told me that Maggie dresses can be an inch long or an inch short...and she said if it was an inch short it would be a problem on a 5'11 bride. So I ordered the extra length to be safe- there is nothing worse than a short dress on a tall bride!
Hi! I'm 6'0 and my Maggie Sottero Claire dress was just perfect when I tried it on without shoes. I ordered the extra length because I hadn't chosen shoes yet and I wanted it to work out.
I ended up getting two inch heels so I think it was worth having that flexibility.
Today is my second fitting.. I really hope she shortened it properly!!!

I'm 5'11 with no heels and with my heels i'll be 6'1. I have the Maggie Sottero "Nora" dress and I didn't need to order extra length, even with my heels, it's still long. Love it!

Help! I am 5'11 and have NO idea whether I should order extra length or not...the store keeps going back and forth about whether I need it or not. I would like to wear 1" heels and I would rather not have the dress hemmed because of all the beautiful detail plus the cost. Any suggestions from Tall brides?
