The only dress designer I have heard who doesnt produce in china is Panina Tornei- and she has a factory in Israel.

Many dress designers do import their dresses or at least their fabrics but not all of them for example Jim Hjelm makes everything in the USA in New York. Maggie Sottero does use imported fabric and materials, the designers are actually located in Utah and they custom make every gown so it does take some time.

My dress is a Maggie, and I was told that the reason they take so long to come in is that they don’t actually make them until closer to your wedding, to minimize the chances of the fabric fading or the dress getting damaged in some way.

Maggie dresses are made in China, but that’s not true for all desigers. My Lazaro dress came with a huge sign that said “HANDMADE IN NEW YORK”, same line as Jim Hjelm as j.andrews.bridal mentioned. I believe my Romona Keveza dress was made in Canada. I placed a special order (hollow to hem) as a super rush one month before my wedding.  The designer himself assured me they would get it in time. It shipped from Canada after just in three weeks and made it to my wedding in time. No way it would’ve made it that fast from China.
